My new DM is making us all come up with intresting backstorys and seeing that Im really bad at coming up with them I was wondering if any of you guys would mind helping me come up with one for a human sorcerer who only uses illusions. i haven't had time to come up with any thing yet because I have exams so any help would be great.

Maybe the character has fey ancestry?

And ask yourself? What are reasons to take up illusions, rather then other sorts of spellcasting? Work from there.

I would go for a conartist approach on him, and since you have bluff as a class skill, it creates a bit more synergy in game with the background.

Maybe he's an artist? With his grand charisma, he was a storyteller from the start. Growing up in his small town, he delighted other children with ghost stories and such. When his sorcerous powers manifested, he soon turned them into reflections of his vast, engaging imagination. Maybe he sets up plays during downtime or uses small illusions to help the party's pre-battle plans.
