I'm playing in a friend's Greyhawk campaign and i've come up with a character that i could use some help with developing her background. My character ideas are always inspired by the figures i use to represent them so the figure i choose is of a Elven Woman welding a staff and Long Sword (she is the Warlord figure 'Lysette Sorceress'). I choose Sorceror over Wizard because i've never played one (not enough meta magic feats for me, plus it takes longer to use them then I would like). The first feat i took was 'Education' to give her 'Knowledge: Demons' & 'Knowledge: Devils', She has a ferret familar, welds a Spell Storing Long Sword and a Rod of Sonic Energy Sub. (1st-6th).

So i'm trying to develope a Female Elven Sorceress 6/Incantrix 5 who has hatred/grudge for Devils and Demons (my GM just loves using them). I just don't know enough of Greyhawk to give her a good history. I don't want to go the typical 'want revenge cauz it killed my family' route. Your thoughts on possible family, where she might be from, and why she hates the evilest of outsiders, would be very appreciated.

Because they're icky is a good start. ;)

Demons and devils could easily represent for her what happens when you give up control, and as such, being the control freak that the typical magic user is, they're essentially the antithesis of everything she tries to be (but not necessarily what she secretly wants to be). What better reason to hate them?

Play her as a wannabe-martyr, acting in `the right way' all the time normally - and surprise the crap out of the rest of your party when she totally lets loose at the devils and demons with every malicious trick she can think of.
