DwarvinJedi 06-03-06, 10:11 PM	I am going to begin an online game and I am drawing a complete blank for a background for my character. The game starts at 1st level in Sigil, after the Faction War(I know about nothing about Planescape), but most of the action will be in different material planes. I know it is considered slightly bad on these boards, but I ALWAYS start with a mechanical concept, then go to the character traits, Then background. And I was flipping through the Planar handbook once we were allowed to pursue those PrC's and I stumbled across one of my favorite PrC's, the Ardent Dilettante, the true jack-of-all-trades, and epicurean. So, I thought that I should make a gnome(one of my favorite races, plus I wanted to live for quite a while, so human was out, and I dislike elves) and Bard seemed to flow into the PrC easily. here is my character sheet: http://www.sylnae.net/3eprofiler/view.php?id=23478 the campaign is playing without alignment, so don't ask why there is an N/A there(I imagine him to be somewhere between NG and CG) His character traits: ALWAYS optimistic, one of the happiest people in the world, he revels in all of life's pleasures, especially fine food and drink. So, I need ideas of where he came from(either FR or Greyhawk, I know more about FR, but dislike how gnomes are portrayed), what his early life was like, how he came about wanting to pursue the path of the Ardent, and how he got to Sigil at level 1.
