Gastrocnemius 12-16-06, 09:39 AM	I’am playing in a Eberron campaigne, where my last character died last monday. So now I’am going to make a new one. A dwarven defender (10level fighter / 1 defender). My DmG whats me in the characters backgound to tell how my character earned the honour to become a defender and why he left his clans stronghold in Mror Holds. I have not played roleplay for that long and it is the first time, I have the write a background story for a level 11 character. I have only made two background stories before, both for level 1 characters, so I need some inputs/help. The basisk storyline for the campaigne is that the party (Aundair wizard, Karrnath fighter (dragonmark) and now my defender from Mror Holds before a Breland rogue) a going to stop the Order Of Emerald Claw from removing the Queen of Aundair from her trone. So if you have a ideer or input to my characters bachground will I be glad. M.
Apupunchau 12-17-06, 11:46 AM	(Insert Dwarf name here) like all dwarves spent some time trainng and serving in the army of his people, but unlike most other dwarves his family was a military family. His father was a war hero and both of his older brothers still served in the military and it was expect of (Insert Dwarf name here) to serve as well. So serve he did for many years fighting for his people but never living up to the standards of his father and brothers. To (Insert Dwarf name here) all this did was making him work harder and harder to be the dwarf they wante dhim to be, not the dwarf he wanted to be. Things finally seemed to turn his way after a particularly brutal battle against orcs in the mountains around their home when (Insert Dwarf name here) threw himself infront of his battalion commander to protect him from a blow from behind. (Insert Dwarf name here) took a grevious wound but his actions gained him much honor and an invitation to train with the elite dwarven defenders. For the first time also his fater seemed proud of him although his brothers both seemed not to care. (Insert Dwarf name here) trained with the defenders for over a year before finally being given his fiest assignment. A dignitary from Mror Hold headed to Karrnath to reseablish a trade treaty need a body guard, it was supposed to be an easy first mission but it wasn't. Now here's where I can think of a few choices of where to go: 1) The Emerald claw attacked in an attempt cause a rift between Karranth and Mror hold 2) Other dwarves looking to retreat from the world of men or gain power for themselves assassinate the diplomat who is from a rival clan Both of the previous ones give your character soemthing to avenge or a plot to uncover the third just leaves him in dissgrace but give him an arch foe. 3) Before even getting through the mountains or the Mror Hold the band is set upon by an orc band led by the would be assassin of the battalion leader who is now missing an arm. The orcs overrun the wagon and the Diplomat is killed leaving (Insert Dwarf name here) in quite a predicament ahving faile dhis first mission. Now also their are two choices for the end of the story: 1) (Insert Dwarf name here) returns to Mror hold to report his failure and the Defenders tell him he must atone for his deeds, however his father disgraced by his son casts him out of the clan leaving (Insert Dwarf name here) homeless andbroken. 2) (Insert Dwarf name here) decides not to face his peers and flees into the human lands to figure out what to do next. Anyway I hope this helps
