I was wondering what would the best race for a wizard be.

one with a plus to it's int. or one that gives you an extra feat like a human or a strongheart halfling.:D

How about the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C.?

**Waits for laughter**

OK. For your wizard's race, how about ettin or goblin?

The ettin could be particularly interesting -- what if one head is noticeably more intelligent than the other?

A goblin wizard could be devastatingly unexpected ...

Never underestimate the power of spellcasting kobolds.

(More importantly, never underestimate the power that comes with being constantly underestimated :smirk: )

Just use a grey elf/sun elf.

Or, alternately, make an adjustment to the Magic-blooded template so that it gives a bonus to Int rather than Cha.

Maybe rename it Arcane Tutored or something.

Magic-blooded template? In what book is that located?

Instead of powergaming a wizard do something fun like make him a minotaur......put lowest stat on str and highest on INT and with some good roleplaying you should have an awesome time with him.....

Here are some crazy ideas, forgive me...

Aarakocra - I can imagine him being more owl that eagle-like. Because they fly, a wizard of their species probably wouldn't wear heavy robes like a majority of Wizards. Imagine being able to cast spells from the air!.

Wemic - Perhaps a little more like a shaman or wicthdocter than a wizard. Despite appearances perhaps the character just had a tribal background, like most Wemics. Perhaps he found a spellbook next to a dead spellcaster as a child, and went on from there.

Hybsil - Perhaps an exceptional individual who turned her back on her normally down-to-earth. Unlike the rest of her brethren, she has a strong fascination with arcana rather that divine powers of nature.

Azer - An azer who took her origins to the next level. If she specializes in evocation spells, primarily fire producing magic, she would make one hell of a Pyromancer!.

Bugbear - Well why not?. True they have no bonus to intelligence, but they are strong and hardy beings. Perhaps he could be an angsty intellectual Bugbear who his trying to improve himself from his militaristic kin.

Lizardfolk - I imagine Lizardfolk to be accomplished summoners. Perhaps he could a sort of warrior summoner mage, who utilizes magic not only to improve his mind, but to protect the innoent.

I stand most strongly by my original suggestion, but after reading that dang Wickerman's list, I have another suggestion:
