The only slavery I can find is in Darguun, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of gladiators or anything similar. Plus, there will be a hobgoblin in my party. If my character's backstory has him as a slave in Darguun, I'd have to get into the whole party member disliking each other stuff, which gets annoying after awhile. So, anyone with a better geographical grasp than me have any ideas? |

Maybe he was forced to fight as a gladiator in a hidden (and of course, illegal) fighting arena. Finally it was shut down by a group of adventurers on the paycheck of the city guard, which could have triggered his desire to adventure himself. Some Quori controlled area of Khyber or maybe even some strange Blood of Vol / Dragon Below cult that admires the bloodsport are also good options. Man, even The Lazaar Principalities probably have some pirate groups that do gladiatorial combat with slaves. And im not even talking about the humans that live on the islands near Argonessen, or the posibilities of Stormreach / Xen'Drik or the Valenar warrior tribes. (oops, i just did :P ) Hope this helps you a bit with inspiration. |

Not to mention, maybe the hobgoblin is an escaped slave, too (it's just not as big a part of his personality). The goblinoid tribes would certainly not limit their prisoners to humans only. |
