I hate skipping the early levels from a backstory point of view because it makes it harder to come up with his history. Anyway the DM was in the military a long time and does the real life fighting thing, he taught tactics in the military and is a novelist on history now so he is extremely into roleplaying and brilliant at it which means I want to do a great job with my backstory. To start I am a Druid 10 that uses a lot of wildshape in both water and land but still has focus on spells and summoning. I grew up in a small farmer city on the edge of a big block of forest and a large lake. The lake has a small city built off it that is full of rich people (i think of it as a yacht club). I left the farm during puberty after meeting a female druid and joined the order (she had no interest but friendship for me unfortunately and later broke my heart). He later worked in the Lake helping mine the lake floor which had very rare materials and entertaining the ships in animal form. This became boring quickly and he became a Guide (I have ranks in guide and hunter) and led people from city to city and around the wilderness until he undertook a larger guide job and went north to the mountains. Without getting into 10 pages of backstory on the world there are lots of ogres, orcs, giants, and goblins in different sections of a large mountain range that raps around the base of the southern countinent. "Evil" has decended as far as the mountain range but has gone no further. My guided group was slain from the Ogres and I made it back alive. From here I have a gap until I am level 10 and on a boat hired by the King of the area to retrieve an item from a lost ship we have no knowledge of (we have a scroll telling us what to bring back but can't open it until we find the ship). I am looking for something to fill in anything I missed and also some connections to my True Neutral Alignment for motivation for going on this mission. I have only played one session but I have played wildshaped most of it inside the water as a shark following along and fighting in the water a lot so far protecting the ship. Also because druids (at least mine) are incredible buff I would like to put some personality flaws (either alignment related or nature) that would curve him a little. So far I have just not been playing him 100% which I will have to do to maintain party unity (I expected that when I played him though). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Adam |

After getting lost in a desert, with only a kobold who didn't speak a word of Common as his compaion, he was hunted for sport by a clutch of wyrmling blue dragons, until he finally found an oasis, which actually turned out to be an illusory cover for a brass dragon's lair, who buried him up to his neck and chatted with him for two months before he got bored, and finally escaped only to be hunted for sport (again) by a group of lamia, which while running from he solved a gynosphinx's riddle and she agreed to help him evade the lamias, which finally culminated in jumping off a cliff into a saltwater lake. And things pretty much got better from there. |
