| TheAnthroDM09-02-06, 02:30 AM | My character is a 5th human archivist, who's feats is, you guessed it Spell Focus(Necromancy), Greater Spell Focus(Necromancy), and still thinking, he's neutral good, and the DM has ruled Healing spells are necromancy spell(which makes sense). So now for the background. Background: Avir was born in a small encampment outside a great city capitol, he was born and raised within this encampment, and the company was.... less than savory. His father(a cleric of Olidammaru) taught him the ways the the diety, but he didn't exactly take to it, though he was facinated by the divine magic, during the years growing up in the camp he had grown accustom to the raid, but choose not to participate, as did his best friend growing up, a young half-orc girl named Unne. One fateful day his campment was attacked, after the city had build of a large enough military force, by this time Avir had began his first prayer book, copying spells from scrolls his father left around. During the battle many of the badits were slaughtered, as well as innocence, one such person was his best friend Unne, who gave up imediantly, but was nevertheless killed by an overzealous Paladin of Pelor(Falling Paladin that is...) he however was spared, ever since he has been facinated with the healing abilities of possitive energy, and seeks to restore life to his innocently slaughter friend, a year later he has made little progress, concentrating on necromancy, and dawning the title of necromancer to reflect his obsesstion with the art. He has three goals now, resurecting his innocent friend, finding a way to prolong life with positive energy, and getting revenge on the Paladin who killed Unne, his research has told him the spell he needs(True Resurection), and the name of the Paladin(Devor Maki), but nothing more, now he adventures to gain enough power to right the wrong that was done. Scene of Unnes Death: The fog on the encampment thickened as the young thief boys began to play cards, the older rouges plotted their next raid by the fire and Avir looked up into the sky, his best friend Unne siting next to him, she was thirteen now, and as a half orc, coming into full maturity. Avir had visited the towns once... carrying his prayer book he was hardly suspect. He heard aweful rumors about ho ugly orcs and half orc were, but he thought, either Unne was an expectionally unugly half-orc, or some bards had to many drinks, as he pondered this though he heard the sound of a trumpet, suddenly the encampment was overflowing with an army, symbols or heirnonious, Pelor and St. Culthbert flashed everywhere, quickly caught up in the chaos Avir held up his hands in surrender, and a cleric of Pelor, seeing his "white flag" and prayerbook, took him away safelty, but as he was lead from the battle he saw a horrid sight, Unne was caught, her usual weapon, a quater staff in hand, defending herself from a Shining elven knight, his armor has imprintment of Pelor across it, and on her side two more rouge found off knights, using their twin daggers, in all the comotion all Avir heard was her cry of surrender, but with his second glimpse at the battle saw her dead on the floor, he quickly darted off into the battle, calling out the words for his healing spells as he did, attempting with all is might, t force the magic out of his fingers, and across the battle field, but no such luck, when he finally go to her, the battle had cleared, she lay dead, along side the other two rogues and a drawf knight, he used all his healing spells on her dead form, trying depretely to bring her back, but it was too late, seaching the sight he took a lock of her hair recalling a bit of remains was needed to bring someone back to life, then he saw it, a blood covered bandana by her corspe, a simialir of Pelor on it, and a unintellegable name on each corner, wraping the bandana in his hand he took an oath "If it kills me, I swear, by all the gods of this world, I will bring you back, and I will avenge your death" cuting his finger with a dagger, and running a line of blood over her forehead.... This story could be interepted many different ways, but the way Avir interepts it is written in his background. So what do you think? Help making the background better please. |

I suggest that you either create a death scene in which the Paladin misinterpreted the very nature of his victim or that you simply change him into a Fighter who fought along with the divine guys and tried so impress them. Or so. |
