Hi, I'm new here so I thought you "professionals" might have some nice Ideas for my Sorceror I'm currently playing (my first Charakter btw, I'm not only new to the Board ^^)

So cheres the Story (I wrote the whole in German so I hope I dont misstranslate to much  )

" Was it Fate?
Was it just a bad coincidence?

Well only the gods can answer this, but as this story shows, they aren't without error either...

It all happend in Waterdeep, not the big Metropole it is today, where the love struck two people, two people as diffrent as they could have been. One was the rich and loyal to the king merchant Ethin Arusun who never done anything wrong in his live. The other was the mysterous dark and violent elf only known as Elendra Amberil. In this town love and hate, honor and traitureness had a relationship.

It might have been that the gods rarely seen a miracle like this, maybe they were just happy for them but especially in the eyes of mystra this love represented the solution af all mankinds problems: the fusion of good and bad

Elendra soon got pregnant and mystra decided to give her gift of magic to their offspring. Yes, it was promising that he or she will become the one that will bring peace to all and become a symbol of peace. A true hero!

On the night it happend the earth shaked, lightnings struck outside of the town. It looked like mystra wanted the people to never forget that day. And they came to earth. Yes, they! Twins! It wasn't the promised hero, no the history rewindet itself again. One good one bad. Tanja and Tremor Arusun...

Their mother checked out faster than they were able to see her so they were raised by their father and his servants, giving them as much love they were able to take. While Tanja was a promising daughter and was sure to take over daddys buisness when she will be an adult, Tremor never seemed to fit in anywhere. He completely failed in the Weapons-Academy, Never studied for the Merchants School and disrespected the gods while serving the churches. Finally it seemed as he found his true calling in the Mages-Academy but it was a farce since his good grades were only a result of his inheritent abilities

Tnaja realised that of course, like him he was gifted with it, but unlike him she knew how to supress it. One day he made a decision. He left Waterdeep, only telling his sister and only with the silver katar, the only thing that was left from his mother

He traveled through the lands, but soon had to realise that he wasn't the kind that was made to survive in the wild since the only rabbits he managed to hunt in a few days exploded by the powers he couldn't control properly. So he started as a street performer and teamed up with a local bard. He learned a lot from his new mentor, how to persuade the less gifted and how to get his will over anything. This got on for a while till one day his mentor left (stealing all of his posessions on the way) and never came back.

He needed someone to back him up. Some fools that will guide him to his goal. Fools that are going to die to protect him since they think he is reliable and worth protecting. A band of adventurers passed the area to hunt kobolds. Yes! Thats perfect. As soon as they finished the lair he clibed down a spike-trap-pit and cried for help.....

and they came....

fools.....

So thats my background. My chara is a CN Sorc lvl 5 with max ranks on Bluff, Diplomaty and Disguise

I'm planning on elemental savant next level (yes I realise I'm not the first with a thunder-sorc, but I like it  )

So, you got any good ideas how to roleplay this? As far I stole once all the gold of the thief while he was gone (he has no clue, I think) but is still protecting the party when its convenient for him, since he would have to look for new "Arrow-Shields" then.

Since this is my first Character I really apreciate the input
many thx in advance

What are his goals?
And the traitor style is overdone.

And the traitor style is overdone.

Only when done badly, or for no clear reason. When done well, it can be damn fun, and enjoyable for everyone.

Well thing is that the character has no goal beyond being an evil traitor.
That is the problem. If someone is going to betray someone, it should be for a reason, preferably a good one.

Carefull not to get caught. If the group you play with is half smart, they'll find a way to make you pay for your evil ways.
