| Doctor_Who01-27-07, 01:09 PM | Hi there everyone, I am the doctor. I am having a bit of creative block. I want to make a fighter, which is not that hard I know but my back ground is where I am having trouble.I want him to have a honor code of sorts but nothing like the palidians of course. Any comments or ideas would be great. I am open to anything to get me thinking. Well see you later. Oh yeah I am starting at level one. |
| Radijs01-27-07, 08:25 PM | I thought up a martial arist a while ago. The campaign got the axe before it started so I never got to play him. But I did devise a code of honor for him. Which I am unable to find for some reason. Ah thankfully I found it between my subscribed threads: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=751569 |
| Doctor_Who01-28-07, 08:27 AM | Well thank you for your in put Radijs that helped out. Now I have got some more information about my background for my character. His name is Toian Kiske, he lived with his father and younger sister as his mother died when he was young. His mother was killed by orcs right before his eyes and he could not do anything. He has since that time worked on getting stronger and smarter. His grandfather was a great general as his father as a superior soldier. "I am a blade that will cut down anyone who threatens my loved ones and friends." That is his main thing in life. He does not care about his own life, only about the life’s of ones around him. Well that is all I got for you guys to think about for now. So just leave your comments or ideas for me to read and I will get back about then and maybe they will help me make Toian more life like. |
| Radijs01-28-07, 02:05 PM | "Mother killed in front of his own eyes." is very cliche. And it doesn't seem to lead to a very lawful mindset. More a chaotic or neutral mindset "I'm gonna protect those I care about and damn anything else" sort of thing. Lawful seems more like the career soldier to me. |
| Infantryman01-28-07, 06:03 PM | I agree with Radjis about the cliche of mother killed by orcs. Some things you could include in a code or a 'warrior philosophy' might be: * Protect the weak * Do not be afraid to make sacrifices in war * Victory justifies everything, it does not matter how you achieve it * Do not hesitate to withdraw from a losing battle * Strike when the enemy is weak * Victory in battle is the mark of true greatness Some of the above would definitely conflict with each other so you might want to adapt ideas to suit yourself. Of course people aren't always logical, so you might have a couple of conflicting ideas in your code - could make for some interesting dilemas for your character! Hope that helps. Infantryman |
