I'm not sure what setting he will be played in. He found the knowledge to become a shadowcaster from heretical tomes within the catacomb of the temple. Personality: Very devout, but feels that his place is among the shadows to guard those who deserves the light. I am thinking of having him feel guilty about his chosen path, but to use it farther the cause of good. I kind of seeing him becoming something of a temple trouble-shooter the one they go to when they need darkness to combat darkness. He is most comfortable with his familiar, but is learning to truely trust others around him. I am still trying to think of a good backstory. The idea of him being the product of a drow raid on the surface (in say Greyhawk), and when his mother died in child birth her family could bear to live the her "murderer", so he was given to the temple to take care of. In his small villiage he was treated as a child of sin by everyone except the priests of Pelor. I will add more to this as I come up with it |

Family member did a great service to kingdom, but did it in such a way that they mere no longer welcom and were forced to leave. PC gew up on the road. When the family settled the church supported them, without which they would have staved/froze/etc. Grew up wanting to serve the church but realizing that the ideals the church espoused left them vunerable to attack. When the PC pointed this out his elders would say something along the lines of "faith manages". Unable to make the leap of faith required to trust in this philosophy he turned his back on the teachings and became "a spider so that the butterflies could live" |
