| id33105-08-07, 11:07 AM | how is this for a tory plus anyways to make it better: Thayne lived with his Human father Amar and his Elven mother Lininphia.Thayne's father tried to teach him the way of the bard and while he had the magical gift he lacked the ability to master the flute.Recently Amar passed away from a long standing illness. however on his death bed he revealed to Thayne a startling revelation, he was not Thayne's true father.Thayne shocked at this news questioned his mother who sadly confirmed this truth she was reluctant to tell him the whole story so he went on a quest for knowledge. Starting on his quest at none other than his elven Grandfather Eniaian. There he revealed the truth Thayne was the bastard son of a one night stand between his mother and a poly morphed white dragon,he was half-dragon! In fury at his daughter Eniaian had placed a seal on Thayne's draconic blood. After being forcibly removed from the house of Eniaian Thayne began a quest to undo the seal and find his father who had abandoned him. His quest eventually brought him to another half- dragon named Velgauder. It was he who taught Thayne how to tap into his dragon blood and force it out as a dragon disciple. Yet Thaye knew that his true dream of fully awakening would be impossible while the seal was in place he left Velgauder and embarked on his quest once more....... |

So unless the half dragon is only story line and ypu do not want to take the template,I would maybe think of changing one of the parents types. The father maybe have dragon blood and the mother too and together they bread a halfdragon of sorts. Iwould also have the father just die of old age, he is human after all. even with just elvenblood in him the child would have a longer child hood then normal human children. |

As for actually being a half-dragon... well it's who he is, it's not like he was a half-orc, and could be made by his parents to look human with minimal effort. You can't exactly hide your giant honking horns and scales from your playmates. How did this affect the character growing up, and more importantly, exactly how did he live X amount of years without freaking figureing out that he was a half-dragon!? Why in god's name would his grandfather be throwing him out, it's not like he stormed in there and beat the truth out of him. White dragons have no natural ability to change their shape, nor do they ever naturally progress to high enough spellcasting abilities to be able to do it magically. And even if they could, why would they want to? Even as a great wrym a white dragon's intelligence and charisma are only 18, they're pretty stupid and easily manipulated. There's very little chance of a white dragon having a one-night stand with an elf. If you can figure out ways to justify those problems, then go for it. If not, come up with a new concept. |
