As Im soon to be involved with a new jedi order campaign, Ive written up a char with a bit of back story, and I wanted to post it here for other players to look at and make any comments (bad and good are welcome). There's both the stats and small char backstory in dot points. The game is set a few months before the initial contact with the Yuuzhan Vong with the ExGal society and will inevitably lead into the YV blitzkreig of the galaxy. Please dont get put off seeing a canon name amongst the full name of the char, its explained in the small backstory after the stats. Comments desired and welcome :) Lara P. Level 4 point used to increase Dex from 15 to 16. - Born on Corellia to a wealthy merchant family, her father had the family name Solo, though any genetic connection to the actual Han Solo and his brood is unknown, as there are trillions of people in the galaxy, it is considered inevitable that someone will meet another with the same last name. While differing physical characteristics from the Solo’s (Such as Sandy Blonde hair), she does have a similar lopsided grin that Han has. - The “P” in the middle of her name stands for Palpatine, as her parents flourished greatly under the rule of the Emperor and the Empire, naming their youngest child after him as a tribute. Lara does not like this factor of her identity as she see's it as a stain on who she is, and she secretly strives to seperate herself from her middle name with good deed. She often leaves out the P. when introducing herself, going so far as to change the subject if friends ask what the P stands for. - Parents did not want Lara going to Lukes Jedi Academy, instead wanted her to stay home and continue the family business, as well as out of secret contempt for the Jedi and their own Imperial sympathies. - Running away from home at age 13, Lara was ‘cut off’ from family inheritance by her parents as a hope of bringing her home. She went to train as a Jedi – a life of adventure was more attractive than a life of money and business deals. - Much more physical than average students, she was taken as an apprentice by Elos Hamik, showing potential and learning quickly under him. - Assisted the New Republic in many skirmishes. While helping the New Republic eliminate a pirate holding on the asteroid sphere of Kris IV, Lara came into contact with a brash young star fleet officer named Jin Moreson. Despite initially disliking his self-confident attitude, Lara came to see past the confident front, to the selfless protector that lay underneath, and as duties brought her in contact with him more often over the months, it was not long before she could hide the fact she had feelings for him, and vice versa. Since, Moreson has since been promoted to Lieutenant. - Master was eventually killed in the Ehtus Rim diplomatic dispute near the end of Lara’s training. Knowing she needed that bit more experience before she could become a knight, Luke has had her perform minor missions on her own since, sharing the responsibility between himself and some other qualified Jedi in continuing her schooling in the force before she becomes a knight. - Due to the tattered information the New Jedi Order has on the force and Jedi traditions, Lara had only a makeshift list of planets that possibly held crystals that could be farmed for lightsaber construction. Travelling to one, she managed to get into a crystal cave, finding a small spore of crystals and taking them: when she finished her saber and turned it on, the blade was Red in color. Having never met a dark sider in her life, Lara has no real idea of the reputation those carrying red sabres have in the eyes of the older heroes of the NR, instead see's this as a strain of individuallity. Friends and Relatives: - The Solo family, through Jedi ties, including Jacen, Jaina and Anakin - The Skywalkers (Obviously) - Jin Moreson, her partner, not married, see each other sparsely - The Solo Household of Corellia, though she has had no contact with either her father, mother, sister or brother in 6 years. - Alex Borsin, best friend at the Jedi Temple on Yavin.
