| Asperazin03-08-06, 02:11 PM | I recently started a new game with my group and my character is the son of one of the lords of Cimbar in Chessenta(Forgotten Realms). He is a swashbuckler, and I want him to become a dervish around 7th level, we are only 3rd now. My problem is I don't really want the class to be called dervish, becuase the concept of wild gypsy dance just doesnt fit with his noble upbringing and lawful goodness. I was thinking a name change, but wasn't sure what to. Maybe you guys have some ideas for a change, and even some ideas on how he accepts this new class would be great. I have already arranged with the DM for his old tutor to teach it to him around that level. Thanks alot |

Imagine your family name was "Kingfisher" or something suitably grand. Perhaps your traditional "Kingfisher" fighting style was created long ago by your great, great, grand father who travelled with a sunelf swordsman from Evermeet, the elf taught him the techniques that helped to refine his swordplay and make his darting, lightning fast, fencing style truly awsome. Over the years your great, great, grandfathers adventuring journal has been passed from father to son, once you become good enough to learn the family fighting style you are allowed to carry the journal and learn from it, maybe even adding your own notes someday. The journal contains the various accounts of his travels and adventures and hundreds of drawings detailing the fantastic Kingfisher fighting techniques your family are known for. And who knows maybe even that old sunelf might make an appearance around seventh level with some advice? ;) |
