| Etsu_ElfRanger09-13-05, 12:57 PM | I was working on a short DnD inspired film, and one of my characters sparked an idea for a cool NPC. He is a half orc bard named Apollo. Several years ago, on the major character's village was raided by a band of orcs. Apollo was one of the results of the raid. He was, of course, ruthlessly tormented by the village children, until the ranger stepped in to defend him. The ranger hated the orcs that attacked the village, but realized that Apollo is not to blame. The ranger encouraged Apollo to find something that he was good at, to find something that made him truly better than the other village children. That one thing was music. Apollo has an incredibly deep and rich singing voice. This is hidden by his rough orcish features and the many scars he received from childhood bullies. He tries to dress as well as he is able, so that he will be taken seriously as a bard. He has a relatively successful career as a bard, travelling from tavern to tavern performing. This is a character who is likely to show up from time to time in a campaign I plan on starting soon. He will probably be used as an ally for the PCs, and maybe as a replacement character for any sudden deaths. Anybody have any ideas on how to improve this character? |

If so, you could also just make him an elf, which would explain his turn to music as an outlet, since elves are all about the arts and magic. Just a thought...but what you've got down now rocks anyhow. |
