I need some back grounds for three NPCs

1. A human binder with a scar across his face that he truly believes is not there

2. a half elf rogue

3. a half orc barbarian

The Idea of the adventure is that all the characters are outcasts of society and they want to redeem themselves. The PC of the group is a soulknife and psionics are a little wierd in my world. wierd as in, use psionics and everyone is all like "grab your torches and pitch forks!!!!"

If I understand well, your adventurer party is composed of 2 PCs and these 3 NPCs?

1) What is a "binder"?

2) Emmanuel grew up in the (INSERT NAME FOR BIGGEST CITY IN THE KINGDOM HERE)'s slums. He doesn't know who is his father; his mother was a human prostitute. Yes, "was", because she just died last year. Since Emmanuel has always made some easy job for the one of the local Thieve's Guild, the guild offered him a more serious job when he began orphan. But a few weeks ago, a guildmember killed a noble in a theft that went wrong. As a result, the balance was broken between the guild and the law enforcers, who began arresting everyone linked from far or near to the guild. With two friends, Emmanuel fled the CITY, but he's the only one who survived. Now, there's two bounty on his head: one from the city guard, and one from what remain of the guild, for betraying them...

3) Corbeau is a double outcast. Born in an orc tribe, he was respected for his (relative) intelligence, but hated for his scruples. He fled the orc tribe, and joinned a tribe of humans living in the Northern Steppes. A few years later, the Great Empire claim this territory to be its own. A representative of the Emperor came, and asked the tribemen to swear allegiance to the Crown. Corbeau and his friends killed the impudent aristocrat. A few month laters, another representative came, but with an army this time. They killed every fighter, and brought back everyone as slave. Only Corbeau survived the cleansing; he's now searching a way to survive...

nice.
binders are people who bind spirits called vestiges to their soul. vestiges are beyond the power of the gods and the practice binding is seen like people see satanic people today.
I like the thing for the rogue.
not into th thing for the barbarian

you need to give a tiny bit more than just race & class.

fighting style? alignment? over-all party alignment at least?

half-orc barb is so typical, it's hard to think up something original. gimme a while, though

maybe.... the half-orc grew up among humans, but was always something of an outcast. his whole life, he really just wanted to be a normal guy. He trained hard to get a position with the town guard. maybe he did get it, and later lost it due to the savage temper of his orcish blood, or maybe they never even took him, distrustful of his orcish blood.

have the guy not even be a "true" barbarian-rather, his rage, extra hp, and DR just come from the fact that his daddy was a really buff orc. He's had training more along the lines of a typical fighter, but he's always been a little slow at learning, and pretty poor at focusing and concentrating in general, hence why he doesnt gain bonus feats and whatnot.

have the guy act like a pretty normal, but maybe even a little elitist. Maybe he hates boozing(a typical 1/2 orc thing). maybe he only has the occasional glass of wine or high-end lager. have him speak very much normal, no "stupid talk". dont make his armor crazy-primitive armor, but rather well-made armor a member of the town guard would wear. maybe he even tries to talk his way out of fights(though he's bad at it, and drops words to draw his blade the minute blood is spilled). maybe he even hates battles, as they are a painful reminder that all the distrustful glares, and words like "savage" and "monster" that he's tried so hard to break away from really arent that off the mark. Sorta like really, really dirty sex-while it may feel good while you're in the middle of it, afterwards, you just dont feel right.

if orcs are big in the area the characters are in, his father could even be a warlord of an orc clan by now, that he may have to face down the road. of course, the most the character would probably recognize is a physical similarity. it would be a stretch for the character to actually discover they were related.

I dunno. It's the best I can come up with, off of just "1/2 orc barb"

Ok, here's a try for the binder (let's call him Jim Monroe).
Jim Monroe is the 10th child in a peasan family of 17 children. In this area, the church of Pelor was paying all the education for every 10th child. That was good for the families who were too poor to feed many children and send any child to school; plus, they eventually got a priest in their family.

So Jim Monroe was sent at the church of Pelor. He was a good child of great intelligence, but very curious. So when an older student first talked him about the "binders", his reaction was "let's give it a try". He found it very interresting, but was displeased that most of the binders were anti-pelorites. So a few weeks later, when a priest told his class if anybody knew what was a binder, he answered he knew. He was taken appart, and lengthily interrogated. Jim gave the name of many binders he met; most of them were young nobles who's parents actually paid for their lessons. All these young nobles were put in jail, and it made a great scandal.

On his part, Jim was simply expelled. The church couldn't keep a known binder, but his help allowed to destroy a binder cell in its walls. Jim's family was very angry to learn they loose their chance to have a priest in the family, and he was disinherited.

Now Jim Monroe is homeless. HIs family doesn't want to help him. A few noble families are after him for revenge, as well as the anti-pelorite binders who escaped being arrested. The church of Pelor is keeping an eye on him. Fortunately, his former teachers still respect him for his intelligence and curiosity...

Perhaps a cleric, or favored soul. With the same background I made for the binder. :ahem:

I got something for the caster from a NPC generator:

Primary motivation: Thrill seeking. The character has passion for adventuring and risk. :dragon:

Secondary motivation: Love for some local authority figure. The character puts the object of their love's welfare before their own. :inlove:

i'll have him fall in love sometime later in the adventure.
