| psilontech07-29-07, 09:26 PM | Greetings! I'm roughly a week, a friend of mine will be starting an Oriental Adventures campaign, and I come here seeking advise for a character of mine I'm in the process of creating. I think I should point out though, that I have never played OA before, nor have I had any previous knowledge of the setting prior to the 15 or so minutes I had with the O.A. rulebook. I have the Character Sheet for my character all worked out, a Level 1 Human Rogue. I do not currently have access to the O.A. book, but my Character is a member of the Scorpion Clan, that which peaked my interest most and looked to fit with the rogue class the best. What I was hoping for help from you guys was a few basic ideas for the background of this character, possibly motivations beyond that which he has been ordered to do by his Clan. As I previously stated, I have very limited knowledge of this setting, and I will be unable to contact my DM untill the day of the campaign, has he will be out of town untill then, and I would like to have at least a basic set of motivations and such set up before I smooth everything else out. I was thinking something to the effect of simply strengthening the Scorpion's basic standing in the empire, possibly acting as an inside element planted within another clan's territory, possibly as an entertainer, or just wandering about in an adventuring party, waiting for orders. Possibly assassination expert, or simply a spy buried within another clan's ranks? Mind you, I'm not asking for a complete background or anything as demanding of that, which would be asking way too much. I am simply hoping to more refine which direction my character should be heading in an unfamiliar setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Please don't yell at me;) |
