| DV8N Coatrack11-03-04, 04:31 PM | i would like to see what kind of traits a one armed humanoid would have. but i dont know where to star if someone could point me in the right direction. |
| Zee'Tah11-04-04, 07:39 PM | ha, one of the guys in my game wanted to have his character have a limp arm. He is new to the game so I told him wait untill he know the basics more. What do you mean by traits? If you mean personality disorders then why not have it be that whenever someone shys away from him or says "oh I'm sorry" he gets offended and yells at them or something. He could also walk arount pretending that he does have both arms and argue with people that its just magiclly enchanted to be invisible. Thats all I got for now. If I think of anything else I'll tell you. |
| TheMightyMcClaw11-06-04, 09:45 PM | Ever see the movie "Master of the Flying Guillotine"? The main character is a one-armed kung fu master. I think it could help you greatly. |
| NovastormMegaton11-08-04, 03:32 AM | I once played a one armed one eyed docter, the survivor of a shark attack. In general one would prepose the following... -2 to strength -2 to dexterity checks involving skills that usually requiring two hands. -? to charisma checks? Depending on the generosity of The DM one could also infer certain positives... +2 to attack roles due to unorthdox fighting style +2 to intimidate checks A bonus to strength checks that usually require one arm. |

Can still be a wizard/sorcerer, as they only need one hand to cast. I would disallow many rogue skills. Like all the manipulative ones. It is probably impossible to disarm traps or pick locks with only one hand. Ever try doing things one-handed? Really hard. You rarely consider how you usually use your other hand to steady something. Take writing for instance, I've tried to write one-handed when I was either lazy and slouching in class or my other hand was busy turning pages or whatnot. The paper shifted all around. Summary, one hand bad. Also, you know this guy will either drink himself stupid, be really adamant about doing things for himself, or be one of those overly-cheerful "differently abled" people. Heck, he may even be proud of it if he lost it in a cool way. "Say, mister, how'd you lose your arm?" "Well, a horrid ogre was mauling innocent villagers of a small farming town, so I took it upon myself to vanquish the beast. The fight was tough, but I dealt the final blow as my axe hacked through its ribs and into its black heart. However, with it's last once of strength, the beast grabbed the hand I was swinging my axe with, and with a mighty roar tore my arm off. I lost an arm so that many would not lose their fathers. 'Twas a fair deal, in my eyes." Yeah... |
| DV8N Coatrack11-09-04, 01:56 PM | i was thinking like a one armed ijatsu master. What would be pro and cons about stats, skills, to hit, and dmg. and i thank you for your input. |
