| Kohdok09-22-05, 09:43 PM | Okay, I have listed here a group of four new characters that I would like to try once I find a group (Just one character, of course, but I made one for each slot) Three are female, and one is genderless. Starting on the right: Gruul, Human Female barbarian. Backstory: Gruul was raised by Gnolls. Yes, Gnolls. Her "Mother" found her as an infant amongst some wreakage the rest of the gnoll tribe had discovered and was looting. This gnoll had recently lost her own young pup, and still wished to nurture her own child. So, like how wolves sometimes take in babies of different species, this gnoll adopted the baby and named her "Gruul", after her own late child. At first, most of the others of her tribe thought her insane to take in a human, a species known for being enemies of the tribe. However, The Gnoll protected the youth fiercely as if it was one of her own children. As the human child grew amongst its gnoll peers, the tribe drew attention from others. Their tribe was the first known to ever tame and domesticate a human. Gnolls divide themselves into two groups: the Hunters who gather the food(Males), and the bearers who can bear children(Females). It was common knowledge that Gruul was a bearer, but it was also obvious that, being a human, she could not properly fill this role in Gnoll society as she was unable to bear gnoll young. Thus, when she hit puberty, she was trained to be a Hunter. She was taught how to disarm enemies and quickly take down prey by harnessing her inner strength. She was trained how to use a Flindbar, a proud weapon of the Gnoll race. Gruul filled her role as a hunter admirably, showing greater strength and determination than most humans, and even several gnolls. She was also quite contented with her place in Gnoll society, not particularly ambitious to gain power and considered a great ally by many thanks to her human wit. Until that day. The day that changed everything for her. Throughout her life, Gruul knew she was different than her kin. Her body had considerably less hair and she lacked powerful jaws for tearing meat. She was occasionally curious about her true origins, but seldom dwelled on it. It was when her tribe stumbled across a human settlement with her in tow for the first time. It was a typical raid strategy: Rush in, bear some teeth, grab some food, leave, and Gruul joined the group anxiously, as it was her first raid. However, her charge stopped when she saw him: a male human in a blue tunic. He was obviously helpless before Gruul, but Gruul found herself paralyzed as a new mix of feelings entered her heart. Needless to say, she was scolded after the raid for not bringing back any food. However, her curiosity had peaked. She knew she had a lot more in common with that male human that she did with her tribe. It was then that she decided to go on a journey. Gnoll hunters often went on journeys to find their purpose, so Gruuls departure was met with little resistance, and even a few blessings from her closest peers. It was now that Gruul would depart to find out what she really was. Personality: Gruul, the girl who was raised by Gnolls. She's an orphan, but her gnoll tribe gave her the strength to go on. As she grew up in the wild, Gruul lacks the typical social graces that many adventurers possess. Also, due to many of her habits, she might be mistaken for a shifter at first impression. She only knows the basics of common and cannot fathom complicated speech. She speaks Gnollish fluently, though. Gruul's weapon of choice is the Flindbar, a weapon from the MM3 designed for disarming. She also carries a Kukri to help her gut and skin animals for food. (Did I also mention her complete and utter lack of table manners?) More on the way! Next time, Ebonic the Warforged Wizard! |
