| rone_leah07-24-07, 05:02 PM | Where to begin? The party lets begin, with the party composition. There's the wizard/gish Manestra, rogue/assassin Summer, fighter/rogue/occult slayer/shadow dancer/wizard Garret Nailo(me) and the cleric who's name escapes me at the moment. I was once connected to summer with a empathy bond similiar to that of a familiar. It was put into place after our second campaign together, when we noticed that for two years that we have never be away from each other for more than a few days. After that all of my relationships started to fall apart. The cleric had just recieved a letter from Manestra that he was undergoing a mission from bigby's apprentice the Red Wizard(not to be confused with red wizard of thay prc) and needed some help. Seeing that this cleric had just helped Summer and I out of a jam, out of the kindness of her heart we decided to return the favor. Skip foward after we had just been an advanced Iron golem with a flesh to stone sword and a con draining whip, with the wizard and cleric currently turned to stone we decided to return to town and regroup. The cleric's order returned them to normal for half price and we decided to make a plan to destroy the golem. Summer had heard the theives guild in greyhawk had a spell that would give the recipient damage reduction and immunity to ability drain. She have the most influence on the guild went to negotiate the price of a scroll and the deal went sour. Well that may be sugar coating it a little, she did threaten the guildmaster with war when they wouldn't let her leave without agreeing to give them 10% of the parties findings. It could have gone better but they let her out alive and seeing that she still wanted the scroll I tried my hand at negotiating. Me being rash went to the guild the same day asking a guild member for the exact same scroll. In the end I the hit put on Summer and the scroll, but I had six weeks before I too became a wanted man. Thanks to the scrolls help we did defeat said golem but the weapons were destoried. But we did find spoils behind the golems storage spot inside a locked chest. The items were a belt, robe with many eyes on it, boots, and a silver helmet. We then stumbled upon a silver room being that the hemlet was locked away and the room was also locked I decided that it was not wise to keep it on when we searched the room for booty. Shortly after we begin searching we decide that the room contains nothing but the mundane and after we leave I put the helmet back on my head and I fail my will save. I quickly turn neutral evil. In the next battle I find out that I was not the only one with cursed equiment. Manestra took the belt and went from he to she, Summer grabbed the robe of eyes and became very itchy and unable to defend herself, and the cleric broke out into dance. Being that these were my friends and had done me no wrong, I did not lash out in their hour of need. After that I started contemplating whether or not to take the hit on Summer. Mostly she is alright but lately she was beginning to get on my nerves. Then she did the unthinkable and broke our bond with the cleric, I felt like she had just stabbed me in the back after studing me for three rounds. I decided that I would deal with the matter when we rested for the night. I should of did it then and there because matters did not get any better. Walking down a hallway we came across a boarded up room and I being nice took down the board seeing I was the only male in the group left I felt it my responsibility to do the heavy work. Being that I was the one opening the door I took the liberty of being the first one in. The room had one statue of a succubus and was littered with dead bodies. I made my save, unfortunately Manestra did not. And not knowing what was going on she had a round of buffing that I would not appreciate. She beat me with an inch of my life and I fell unconsious but did not finish me off. The statue called to her, sparing me, she went to it and got 3 negative levels and got another save against the complusion. She made it after the cleric heal me and debunked the gish we decided to rest for the night in manestra's rope trick. And now we come to my faithful question do I kill them in their sleep or do I make their lives a living a hell for betraying me. Any and all opinions on the matter will help me for I don't what to help the dm with a tpk, because I feel like I'm already out of the group. |

Is your character still neutral evil? This might help to justify killing the party in its sleep. But in the end I think a neutral character (on the good-evil axis) might kill traitors to. You should consider if your character is so mad or feels so betrayed that he'll murder his companions. Is he perhaps aware of the situation that made his companions betray him. If he is aware of the outside forces that influenced his friends, he shouldn't kill them. I would like to point out that your DM might think that you roleplay your character to the bone by trying to kill your partymembers, but he might not think that it's appropriate after all. Some DM's think of D&D as a team game and killing your partymembers isn't beint a sport. In this case, your PC might become a NPC under the control of your DM. I don't know if you want to consider these "metagame" remarks, but perhaps you should talk to your DM before committing a crime ;). Hope this helps, Cheers |
