| PhoenixInferno08-30-07, 06:09 AM | Hey people - I put together a Paladin of Mystra for use in a play-by-post game where the DM picked players from a pool of candidates and I realized that the party is a little...mismatched for a Paladin - its largely chaotic (Chaotic Good, fortunately) with 1 Neutral player (a Fey'ri - offspring of fiends and elves) and one Chaotic Neutral - a Necropolitan (a PC-friendly undead template from Libris Mortis) Human. Am I overreacting? I can imagine a Paladin associating with a being with fiendish blood in his veins (since, after all, he's neutral, potential for redemption and all that), but an actual undead party member? I guess I could see it as a marvel of magic, which a Paladin of Mystra could be intrigued with - and my paladin doesn't have Turn Undead... What do you think? This (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=905164) is the setup thread, this (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13586902&postcount=179) is my character, this (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13585195&postcount=174) is the necropolitan that's making me think hard. Thanks for reading! |

Granted the Rogue may not appreciate pity, but her state of undeath could be considered something horrible done to her rather than something to blame her for. A sort of paternal concern might be in order, where you strive to help her recover some sort of semblance of life to her, to support her as a person rather than a walking corpse. |

| CrimsonDeath08-30-07, 09:06 PM | I'm not completely sure that'd be true of a Necropolitan, since it's generally not merely an elective procedure, but, in fact, a prestiegious one. However, if you tank your Knowledge: Religion modifier, it's plasible that you wouldn't know that. |
| Terjon of the Blue Rose08-31-07, 01:38 AM | given the story on the undead i'd say you're more likely dealing with an attempt to recreate a stolen necromantic procedure than a willful involvemnet in an old and well understood one. that being the case stormbrand's advice is pretty good (it usually is and double that for paladins). I would worry about her past at least as much as she does though. Try and use this time where she doesn't remember to convince her she doesn't have to go back to that life even if she does remember it. |
