Background for a character I scribbled up for fun. Ideally, I wanted background in "Stages", reflecting who and what she is as her career progresses... specifically, for 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th levels. To give some help, I've written her stats to Level 10. She's a Human Female Paladin 5/Pious Templar 5. Lawful Good obviously. She has a +2 Bastard Sword, +1 Tower Shield, +1 Full Plate, Ring of Protection +1. Here's what I have so far. Comments and criticism appreciated. 1st Level: Alsa Pelys Lionheart was the daughter of Elena Valkys Lionheart, Knight Paladin of the Mercury Knights, a proud and ancient Order of Evadia. As the daughter of a Knight Paladin, Alsa grew up within the Order. As within Evadia, all are born equal, her youth was spent as a servant, her time split between menial duties, and training to become a Knight. All her life, the young girl was fascinated by the faith of her people, and became well-versed in the legends of Alyx. By her thirteenth year, she knew every drinking song, and more stories of heroic feats than many twice her age. It was believed by many that she was destined to be a Bladesman; a Warrior-Bard. However, fate had other plans. Young Alsa chose to perform her Rite of Passage, and thus become a true adult. She chose the Rite of The Sword, where the aspirant must hold a red-hot sword by the blade above their head, and recite the anthem of Evad. Though painful and difficult, as well as dangerous, Alsa accepted the Rite without fear, and succeeded despite all doubts. Upon examination of her hands, the Clerics saw there was no wound; the Evadian Steel would not harm her flesh. This was a sign that she was chosen by Alyx, destined to be one of his faithful. She was aceepted into the Praetorian, the holy order of Alyx, and trained as a Paladin. 5th Level: By sixteen, Alsa was ready to leave the Temple of Alyx, and set out into the world. She served alongside the militias of Tabberriek, adopting their fighting techniques. After a long and bloody battle against a powerful Orc Chieftain, she was accepted as an honourary member of the Tabberriek City-Guard, and was presented with a traditional Tower-Shield. From there, Alsa headed out into the world, leaving her homeland of Evad far behind. For almost a year she wandered, travelling the lands of the Steppen, and besting the foes of Alyx. When at last she returned, it was as a hero, a battle-hardened champion of the faith. She was granted the title "Alsa the Pious", and indoctrinated into the Order of the White Templar, the Praetorian's warrior-arm.
