| DeepwoodElvenArcher07-04-03, 07:09 PM | Hi everybody, I have a question. I am currently in an online savage species campain and I my charcater is a kobold sorcerer/rogue who is oppsessed with traps. I have a backround and everything, just, I'm not sure exactly how to play him. Here's his story: Gnish was born of the Kultomack tribe of kobolds. His father was the shaman of the tribe. The Kultomacks were at constant war with a tribe of goblins known as the RedEyes. The wars were over a small field that both tribes claimed ownership of. As Gnish grew up in this warlike society, he began a fasciantion for traps of all kinds, particualrly magical ones. He began to construct his own traps outside of the village in the nearby woods. When Gnish caught a fully grown bear in one of his traps, his father realized his talent and gave him a postion in his guerilla army as a trap maker. Gnish lived for many chaotic years in the tribe of his father, creating goblin traps His favorite were the ones that involoved magic. His father began to teach him in the ways of the sorcerer and soon enough, Gnish replaced his father. A year later, the tribe was attacked by a marauding band of gnolls that had allied with the RedEyes. The burst into the camp and slew Gnish's family before his eyes. He managed to escape with only a minor scar across his left eye and a deathy fear of gnolls. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for personality traits beyond his fear of gnolls, or any quirks that would fit this character. Thanks! |

Take prestige classes in example, like the elemental savant and the dragon disciple. Thats your first priority. Also since he is a kobold maybe add a tint of spite and hatefullness, no matter what alignment. really play out your fear of gnolls, maybe showing a little inner hate to all but kobolds. Ciao. |

But I mean, it makes sense if your father perhaps just taught you to harness it a little. Given his chaotic upbringing and the tribal mentality, I'd perhaps play him rather savagely. Also, what prompted the level in rogue, consider that. |

The sorcerer is ore the fact that his family is all born with magic ability and his father honed it, |

Give him a pet that he loves, but that hates him. Perhaps a pet weasel that is always biting him when he pets it. 4. Have him refuse to speak anything but draconic. |

Number two won't work because we have a gnoll barbarian in the party, and he make take offese to him carrying around a gnoll head. (Plus, my DM is Laughing Hyena Velox, who, if you don't know him, is oppsessed with gnolls and hyenas.) But number three will be great because he is a sorcerer and he has a raven familar name Crebain. Thanks! |

Have him take up playing pranks to try to woo some gnome girlie (as a secret admirer perhaps), send unsigned letters, and even have someone else speak for him as he feeds them the words (like Cireno). |
