| Mr. the Hun06-03-07, 06:44 PM | I'm going to be playing in a nautical, pirate based campaign in a few weeks and, in said campaign, I'll be playing a halfling pirate captain named Inio the Black. I need some ideas, I guess, for a decent character voice and some fun pirate jargon I can use at the table. I've been toying around with a variant on Captain Hector Barbossa's voice from the three films "Pirates of the Caribbean" but I'm not sure if I'm entirely satisfied with it. Also, I need some help with a history and a background. We're starting at first level and obviously don't have the proper funds for a ship yet, so, according to my DM, we'll be doing work for other captains and other ships until we can get the money to purchase our own ship. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Mr. the Hun |

I mean this guy had a fake hook, and usually ran away when trouble or a fight was about to begin, only yo come out guns blazingat the end of the battle...when it was over. The bad guy was a Privateer named "Adimiral Donavan Hawk" (LN Scoundrel). But anyways I had Capt.Rumsfield kinda talk the basic pirate jargin, but adding funny lil stints to make him more lovable. For example, I had him have fake hook, and his sleeve would always falldown revealing his hand, and I'd motion him pulling it back up lol, orwhen he was shocked, he'd flip his eye patch up to get a better look, revealing that he has no eyes missing. Sometimes added a lil William Shattner to the jargin. Mix it up your own way! |

Oh, come now. What self respecting pirate would ever purchase a ship when he and a few loyal compatriots could simply commandeer one? Perhaps you could even organize the crew to mutiny against the current Captain but for heavens sake... purchase a ship...? You, sir, give pirates a bad name. ^_^ |
