| Olpolokk11-20-07, 12:36 AM | I am playing an undead pirate captain and I need suggestion to name my ship. So par I could only come up with this names: The Dancing Kobold The Black Dragon The Black Kraken The Black Draken Also it would be nice if you included a little motto like this. The Aquatic Beast “We put the A in Arrrrrgg!” The Black Dragon “No man can satisfy The Black Dragon’s hunger for treasure!” The Black Draken "Fast, deadly and hungry for treasure!" |
| The_Shaman11-20-07, 07:53 AM | The Shadow Sails "Bringing darkness and despair since M.P. 658" The Kraken's Fang "What we bite off becomes ours" The Old Scourge |

| IMAL11-22-07, 07:52 PM | The Northlance The Seablade (or) Windblade The Impossible The Swift The Improbable The Insatiable Try mixing words, adding hyphens, and stuff. You can get some unique names like... The Blizzardcrest or Hambelly. Think of the shenanigans to be had on the Hambelly! I've got a ship now called the Run Cutlass. Yar! |
| SageBahamut11-22-07, 10:33 PM | I once flew a ship (because I sold my soul to Halruaa) called the Desert Rose, which flew out of Calimport. My current ship is called the Indomitus, which is badass because it has the dual meanings of "savage" and "without a master." |
| JaiaDrottsingr11-23-07, 11:31 AM | Ones I've Used: QAR The Dreadnought The Dread The Lead The Mammon The Fate's Kiss Death Upon The Waters She's My Daughter II She's My Daughter IV She's Half Mine Jolly Roger Blackwind Garbage Trawl |
| Terjon of the Blue Rose11-23-07, 11:26 PM | Depending on the alignment of the pirates (in fantasy good aligned ones do exist) The Freedom (crewed by the Free Men) or The Final Horizon (crewed by the dead of those she has taken) Or depending on the level of humor in the campaign The Sea Hor (The Sea Horse until appropriated and renamed) |
| JaiaDrottsingr11-24-07, 11:45 AM | Depending on the alignment of the pirates (in fantasy good aligned ones do exist) You mean Gentlemen of Fortune and Privateers. They existed IRL as well, Sir Francis Drake was very *patriotic*... |
| Terjon of the Blue Rose11-24-07, 10:31 PM | You mean Gentlemen of Fortune and Privateers. They existed IRL as well, Sir Francis Drake was very *patriotic*... Doesn't mean he... or his crew, were good-aligned. |
| Dead_Weasel11-25-07, 01:35 AM | You mean Gentlemen of Fortune and Privateers. They existed IRL as well, Sir Francis Drake was very *patriotic*...Doesn't mean he... or his crew, were good-aligned.I would not even call them lawful; Drake's motivation to become a privateer was revenge. Regardless, their alignment would depend entirely on perspective... "civilized" societies see adventurers as heroes, and "uncivilized" (monstrous) societies see adventurers as marauding murderers. Doubtless the English and Spanish had similar attitudes towards Drake (although I absolutely do not mean that Britain was in any way more civilized than Spain). |
| Terjon of the Blue Rose11-25-07, 01:58 AM | Of course. However the point was that in fantasy as opposed to IRL an good pirate or even LG can exist. Remember that in D&D alignement not based off perception as with real life. It doesn't matter who you are or how you perceive a person Detect Alignment reveals the same result. Of course this tends to lead me to believe that in the game good and evil are basically meaningless title to the 2 sides in a war but hey that's a long, oft-repeated, never-solved-to-all-sides-acceptance, argument. |
| Moosh Nailo11-25-07, 03:44 PM | The Dirty Swan Mockingbird Shark's Fin *Insert name here* the 2nd. Stronger, Faster, Less explodie. Devil's Breath. It is mortal to err. It is pirate to arr. Ninja's Downfall Soul Guzzler Nightcap Maybe check the lyrics to, if not the songs themselves, Ghost of the Navigator and Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden for inspiration. |

| Melpomene11-30-07, 02:29 PM | Long-winded or high-minded words make impressive sounding ship names. The Faith and Trepidation The Truth and Reconcilliation The Redemption The Absolution The Winnower The Shriver The Faith-in-Darkness Serenity Tranquility ...or you could go with the S.S. More-Powerful-than-the-Hulk-Batman-and-Superman-Combined. |
