Well. Long time i desired to set a pirate pc up, so it is that I eventually wrote a background draft. I'm summarizing it here, and I'd like to know what you think of it, and how would you furtherly develop it and if you have any suggestions/critics about it... Before you start reading, I want to make it clear that this pc is deliberately most inspired to Jack Sparrow (movie: Pirates of the Caribbean) and Guybrush Threepwood (game: Monkey Island serie).

A few starting ideas would have him being devoted to Valkur ('lightly' devoted, so to speak), using a kukhri (which he discovered in some of his travels and which he never parts from) and being quite a typical pirate, talking slang, drinking grog, lusting for loot and adventure, bragging about sea myths and all those fun pirate clichè's we're used to (basically, i want him to be quite a fun to play and to play along with for other party members).

background:

- Guybrush's past is largely unknown. Following pirates' rules, nobody asks him about it, and everything known starts from the day he became a pirate. He doesn't recall much of his own past as well, except for a few scenes and brief instants.

- Guybrush was embarked as a quartermaster aboard the pirate ship 'Helena', commanded by an alcohol-addicted captain, which sailed the Sea of Swords. After a few years of this, Guybrush was promoted to first mate, with good chances, one day, to inherit the ship's command.

- As a first mate, thanks to his own skill, he was more responsible tan the captain for the ship's fortunes; until he refused to execute some captive civilian passengers found on a merchant ship: he was then accused of mutiny by the captain, and condemned to be left on a deserted and godforssaken small island.

- At this stage, Guybrush' memories blur, and focus again when he woke up, days later, in a fishermen's hut, in a small village he discovered to be close to Calimport. Guybrush was found on the island, sun-burnt, half starved and feverish, by those fishers who then brought him to their village and tended to him. Small does Guybrush remember of his days on the island and of the few days before, but very clear in his mind are the ship's name 'Helena' and the captain' name.

- Few days later, it is with a lust for justice, adventure, and looting that Guybrush walks away from the village, eager to get his pirate's career going again.

thank you all.
