I started a thread over on CharOp (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?p=15638523#post15638523), and they thought here might be more appropriate, so here goes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the campaign I'm currently playing in my character is (or perhaps just believes he is) a deity manifesting on the material plane.
I'm playing as a cleric, and I'm interested in input for deity-like powers I could get. He is neutral good, and his associated domains are community, good, planning, and purification.
Currently I am level 8 using some DMM:persist (no nightsticks), to persist three buffs on my party & followers (Im planning on stopping it there at least for awhile so its not super-cheesy).
The theme is to portray a deity that has manifested himself on the material plane. I'm looking for things that I can do to prove to people I am a god.
Healing Devotion, for example. Instead of healing the person outright, I am able to bestow upon them the power to heal themselves. When an NPC sees that, they are more likely to believe that I am in fact a god.
He styles himself a deity of the common man, which is why he is willing to manifest himself on the material plane. He argues that the other gods care little for the actual problems of the common man and are unwilling to put themselves in any kind of danger for the sake of their followers.
By manifesting himself on the material plane, he stretches his connection with the source of power (the outer planes) which explains why his powers would be diminished until he attuned himself fully to the material plane (leveling up).
So I'm looking for things that while obviously of not the same potency of the deities you would find in Deities & Demigods or Faiths & Pantheons is inline with the TYPE of things they would be able to do. If that makes any sense.
Anything WotC goes, we shy away from Eberron a bit, but if its particularly on theme, the DM would probably let it in.
We're using a variant rule where we gain feats instead of gear ( 1 every level where you wouldn't normally get a feat/ability point, so 2,5,7 so far). So options via feats are the most valuable.
I'll be picking up leadership at level 9, as I just converted an orc we had captured. He usually won't be taking part in combat, he's going to more cover the survival parts of our adventure.
Any input is appreciated! Thanks!
