Hello, me again. In a campaign I'm doing we have quite a concentration of for lack of a better word...stupid characters. My monk with his intelligence of 13 has the second highest to a rogue who's intelligence is 14. We also have a fighter, a cleric, and a sorcerer. Since I'm helping the others (who are all relatively new to DND) create their characters I figured I'd bring up these two particular characters.

Grund Krid
Chaotic neutral Goblin Cleric of Olidammara Domains are chaos and trickery
Strength: 13
Dexterity: 16
Constituion: 14
Intelligence: 4
Wisdom: 18
Charisma: 12

From what I know he was raised by Goblins and although constantly picked on for being dumb, he was quickly annoited as the cleric of his tribe. He was separted from said clan upon disagreements regarding how to deal with a small orc tribe, whilst the other goblins suggested giving into and surrendering, Grund asserted they instead simply leave, find a new place to stay. This got him booted from his tribe.

My thoughts on playing this little fella are to make him speak only a few phrases of common, but when he does typically have him making good points or stating things nobody else noticed in a very simple and blunt manner.

Areela Tir'Deth
Neutral good Wild Elf Sorceress
Strength: 10
Dexterity: 16
Constitution: 15
Wisdom: 13
Intelligence: 6
Charisma: 18

Areela is supposedly the daughter of a pair of elven druids who hoped their daughter would be a part of that pathway herself. Though upon birth, it was discovered by little inconsistencies that she had magical arcane powers. These interested her far more then the call of the wild or anything druidic. Her parents, outraged forbid her from ever pursuing the practice of her special powers. In a huff, she stormed out of the village and wandered until she found herself in civilized land.

I'm a bit more lost when it comes to her. The only thing I can really think of is she'd be quite good looking and "exotic."

Well you seem to have the right idea with the goblin, have him say little in Common, but have it be rather insightful to reflect his high Wisdom score.

I'm thinking Elan from OotS... but Elan probably has a low Wis as well.

As for the elf sorceress, ya Elan from OotS works, or just use a blonde valley girl ditz. As much as I hate advising ppl to use that, it does seem to fit what you are looking for, the pretty charismatic stupid girl. Especially since you described how she "stormed out of the village in a huff"

for starters, 13 and 14 are not stupid, infact they are both notusibly smarter then the average commoner will ever be. As for the the Sorceress, don't play her naieve because that would fall into a question of wisdom. Instead you should make her confused by large words, and perhaps get into childish arguements. I think I will just mention for no reason at all that charisma is a person's strangth of personality, and has little or nothing to do with one's apperece.

Yes, it would be strength of personality above all else, but being good looking tends to make having a strong personality and sense of self-confidence a bit easier.

For the character with the INT of 4 and Wisdom of 18, he's going to be a character that is very aware of his surroundings and has good insight.

He's going to notice things that others would miss -- when dealing with the storeclerk, he may be the one that notices the clerk seems unusually nervous. He will notice that someone is acting odd or "out of character". He'll notice fidgety hands or darting eyes. He may be a nearly infallible "lie detector". He'll be good at keeping watch and will notice when something is out of place/has been moved.

He may have difficulty with speaking Common. He could even speak it improperly with an odd habit of mixing up phrases or putting things in improper order (think Yoda from Star Wars).

The above average Charisma indicates that he is at least a little endearing in doing so. While he may not be particularly smart, maybe his quirks make him "cute" (much like how a child butchering a word can be cute) or he has a personality that makes people enjoy being around him (always happy and cheerful but not in a fake way).

He won't be able to remember things well. maybe he knows this and writes things down (even if it is in symbols or partial words). He could be fond of jokes but always messes up the punchline. If he tells a "why did the chicken cross the road?" joke, he could butcher the punchline by saying "because he was on the side" that makes the joke still funny but not in the way intended. With his good Charisma score, he could be genuinely liked even with his low INT score.

He just won't be good at solving puzzles, memorizing facts or sequences, or problem solving. He could almost be played as a loved pet -- always knowing when to give loving attention to the person that needs it the most and doing so exactly when they need it but otherwise, being fairly unintelligent.

For the elf with the Intelligence 6 and the Charisma 18, I would go with the empty headed, blonde stereotype. She might be attractive physically and have a good personality but she's dumber than a brick. She'll be asking things like "I know it's tuna, but the can says 'chicken of the sea'. So, is it chicken or is it fish?" The lights are on but no one is home.

She might have great people skills (remembering to say please and thank you and showering people with attention so that they respond well to her) and be able to get her way a lot (maybe through intuitive manipulation and pouting), but her plans are going to be downright bad. She won't remember facts or figures, she may be bad at names (calling everyone sweetie or cupcake or something similar instead), and she won't be one to try to plan things in details (and if she does, she will fail miserably).

She may have big ideas but no idea how to develop those ideas or fulfill her plans -- instead relying on someone else to do the detail work -- but can sell people on her vision even if she herself doesn't know how to make it work.
