OK, here is a character I came up with purely from a name. It is sketchy, and I haven't even rolled stats yet - I'll do that when I know what power level the campaign is set to. All constructive comments welcome. Character Concept - A frail human(?) born premature, with unusual magical power. Character Name: "The Moon Seven Times", or 'Moon for short. Mechanics: Half-Demon, Tiefling or Infernal Warlock (depending on starting level and / or Racial levels available) Background A young woman in the local Poor House (Workhouse) dies whilst giving birth to her premature baby. Just before she dies the woman utters "The Moon.... Seven Times", possibly a reference to the length of the pregnancy - this ends up being used as the baby's name. 'Moon is raised within the Poor House, and put to work as soon as he is able. Resentful of his treatment by the staff and owners, he grows into a willful, rebellious child. He is the recipient of numerous punishments and beatings during his early life. During one beating, the 'Punishment Officer' somehow receives severe burns - neither the Officer or 'Moon will talk about it. After that incident, the number of burn injuries amongst the staff and workers increases dramatically - and the increase is blamed on 'Moon. People avoid him. Some even refuse to work in the same area as him. His treatment by the staff steadily worstens. Finally, 'Moon escapes from the Poor House, leaving the charred remains of a guard in his dormatory. After his escape, 'Moon scratches together a life in the undercity. Unknown and forgotten, he practices his new abilities in secret.
