I am trying to design a multiclass Wizard/Cleric that by level 20 will gain access to both 9th level cleric and wizard spells. I'm sure this has been done before but I haven't been able to find any builds on it on the boards.

This is what I have so far but I figure why not ask the exerts before committing.

Swashbuckler??? 1/Wiz 4/Ur-Priest 2/Mystic Theurge 8/Abjurant Champion 5.

The DM is allowing the optional use of the Ur-Priest to be for the worship of a forgotten god (not anti-god) so the character is not evil.

The one level of swashbuckler was to get the necessary fortitude save (3) by level 5 and bluff skill (rank 6) to qualify for Ur-priest but in truth the weapon finesse from swashbuckler is pretty wasted on the build.

I also wanted to try and have both priest and wizard spells by 6th or 7th level but that's pretty flexible.

I'm open to pretty much any suggestions at this point or even a link to the apprpriate thread. Thanks for all your comments and help in advance!

After looking at some other classes, I've decided to instead go with

Wiz 3 / Druid 3 / Arcane Heirophant 10/ Mystic Theurge 4

It gets me the spellcasting that I want, makes the familiar a useful companion and I don't have to bend and twist the rules. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Try "Gestalting" from the Unearthed Arcana book. To Gestalt means to simply merge the classes together. In your scenario, merge the wizard and cleric together. Gestalting is a high-powered variant of play; so, discuss it first w/your DM. In gestalting, your merge the best saves and attack bonuses and ALL abilities from BOTH classes, giving your access to a potentially more dangerous, well-rouned character. Instead of Wizard 10/Cleric 10, it'll be Wizard-Cleric 20.
