Please help with story connection betweeen my two characters [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-23-06, 02:32 AM I'll be starting out a new level 1 character in a few weeks. I need to connect him to my existing character.

Here he is: "Oskar Dankill", racist obsessive-compulsive Dwarf Fighter

My current character is a level 14 Gnome Sorceror, "Glim", with no real background. Specializes in friend/foe group management spells: barriers, mass buffs, transportation, etc. He's dealt 12 points of damage so far with a useless spell that he might ditch for another non-damaging spell. He is adventuring in Tilberton. The party is interferring with some evil demon army building. Namely, fire giants, white dragons and derrow (sp?). The fire giants were controlling an ancient white dragon with an orb of dragonkind. We took them out. The derrow, a major succubus and another demon behind all this come next. Derrow are crazy/mad & evil underground creatures related to dwarves.

The DM suggested a dwarf from those living near Tilberton. That's not enough to make him friends/associate with Glim, but it's a start. Any ideas?

Perhaps did Glim wronged the dwarf (or his family) in the past, and is looking him to take revenge. He track the gnome down, and when he find him, he realises he's more happy fighting derros than arguing with a gnome.

11-23-06, 02:16 PM No, the sorceror will be retiring or otherwise going out of play. But he can talk with, help out, etc. the level 1 guy. In fact Glim is allowed to give Oskar a couple minor magic items and "unlimited" masterwork items to help him adventure. I'm thinking +1 full plate. I presume that would count as 2 items, since non-magical full plate is so expensive.

In the level 1 party's 1st campaign, they'll be clearing out a den of spiders. Presumably by then the local derro threat will be more or less neutralized.

As an example, the party's half-orc barbarian/ranger commands a Tilberton guard troop from a variety of races. His next character is simply one of the better troops. Glim has no underlings, however.

I need to connect them with some kind of backstory, any backstory, doesn't matter. I'm stumped.
