We are soon going to start a new campain. One of our characters is a paladin trying to prove his innocense, because he is said to have killed his father the old king by his older brother. While his brother killed him himself. Now I want to play a rogue in service of his brother. A neutral one of course. But forced to 'get rid of him' because otherwise he wont see his son again. But im afraid my high charisma and bluff wont help me to make the party trust me because the'll just do what they think instead of what their characters think.

*struggles with grammar.*

The paladin already in the party is falsely accused by his brother who claims that said paladin killed his own father.
You want to play a rogue who works for the paladin's brother.
But your rogue only works for the paladin's brother because that brother is holding the rogue's son hostage.
And you're worried that the party won't accept you because they tend to metagame.

Well I'd say DON'T! Even though you're neutral you're working for the enemy. The evil brother would probably prefer to see the paladin dead. If you'd act in character you'd be forced to murder the paladin in his sleep so you can get your son back.

Unless your rogue is kind of ****** that his son is being held hostage and is planning to double-cross the brother. I'm sure the paladin would be willing to rescue an innocent child, and you could pass it off to the brother as "I'm destroying his reputation by getting him to go after you, then the forces of law can kill this 'villain' and cement your hold on the throne."
