I am an anthromorphic lion with Knight levels, and he is an anthromorphic tiger with samurai levels, in tradition with the dueling western noble warrior and eastern noble warrior stereotypes. Our DM, who may be reading this, has given me a sister. My freind's tiger learned his samurai training from an old man who has just passed away. So far neither I nor he has mentioned anything about seeing each other before. There is an anthromorphic wolf ninja in the mix but he may be retconned, so you might not want to have to mess with that. In other words how do anthromorphs come about? Why has neither of us said anything about it? Are there other anthromorphs? Where are they? So many more questions. . . |
| Murr-Quan Lord #207-05-06, 01:13 PM | * Anthropomorphic creatures are the norm on your world, and effectively replace humans (and/or humanoids). ISSUES: How does this affect society? What do you do with existing humans' stat blocks? Does the DM approve? * Anthropomorphic creatures are a norm on your world, a group of races that coexists with humans a la Moogles, Viera and Mithra (Final Fantasy). ISSUES: What is their society like? How do they interact with humans and humanoids? How do they fit into your DM's world? * These creatures are not the norm, and came about via powerful magic -- cross-planar travel, an alternate form of lycanthropy, or a wizard's curse. ISSUES: What caused this? Is the person who did it still around? Does this suggestion give your DM sadistic ideas? * You don't know how you came about. ISSUES: What, if anything, do you know? Is it ignorance or amnesia? Is there any precedent for this sort of thing? Are there legends? Were you an anthropomorph all your life, or did something happen to you? * How you came about is not important to the story. ISSUES: How do you suspend your disbelief that nobody around you cares that you're not human? Will you decide at some point to come up with an actual explanation? Good luck. *bow* |
| Eidolon Faer07-05-06, 06:17 PM | Dear lordy, the word "anthropomorphic" still makes me cringe, even this many years after the Furry/Plushie gamer left the group I play with. :gah: And yeah, the fact that the peasants aren't hunting down the demon-cat-things with pitchforks and torches is definitely a puzzle. Especially since the tiger could EASILY be mistaken for a Rakshasa. |
