| GodGoblin03-04-08, 07:00 AM | Ive had an idea recantly of a cleric who casts negative spells and rebukes undead but their NG! The back ground to this is pretty simple- A young girl is possesed by a demon, after a long painfull exorcism the young girl was free of its hold, but the Demon left its mark on her in form of demonic powers, these are still in thier early stage of manifestation. Her family started to see her abilities in action, it just stared with the family cat dropping dead at her feet, her mother just tried to ignore it and prayed to Pelor a whole lot more that night, but when she consumed the remaining life from her dying aunt the family disowened her so the young girl went to the only other person who has done her any good in her life... The cleric that exorcised the demon. After a series of tests the cleric found no demonic presence within her, he could not explain why or how the demons powers manifested within her but he realised that she was still an innocent, she now stays by his side at all times as she fears that she still cannot control her powers, he serves as her guard, mentor and moral guide to make sure she sticks to the path of good. This is a really rough background i will hopefully write it out in full at a later stage. I just want to know what you guys think of this idea, is it possible? would it make an interesting character? or even have the cleric and girl as NPC's? or are there any specific spells or PrC's that would make sense for the character? Im hoping this could evolve into a pretty cool concept, any thoughts or ideas will help it on its way! |

Maybe, the invulentary manifests of her powers are through negative emotions. Edit:if she was Palladin ish I would have suggested Gray Guard, but as cleric... can't think of something right now. I'll get back to you on that one. Edit 2: Sacred Exorcist? (Complete Divine) she tries to prevent others from suffering the same fate as herself. Also Soulguard (Fiendish Codex II), that would actually make some sense for her to be one as it has Divine Rebuke (allows you to rebuke Evil Outsiders) but it's a LG/LN Prc. |

| I_roll_ones03-04-08, 05:31 PM | Dread Necromancer might be better, they have nifty negative energy abilities and rebuke undead. They, however, cannot be good because they commit evil acts. However, if the game is going by either the idea that negative energy increases evil in the world or the idea that the souls of undead are tortured, this little girl would be walking the line of neutrality. She may be too young to realize what she is doing, but she is committing evil acts, techinally. However, if raising undead/manliplating undead doesn't make you evil, then there is little reason that a Dread Necromancer cannot be good. That is, if you want to be. |
| Neraagile03-04-08, 07:01 PM | Dread Necromancer is also an interesting one, but it makes little flavour sense that she is slowly turning into a Lich IMO. Something more Demonic perhaps... |
| I_roll_ones03-05-08, 12:38 AM | Going off of the fact that the character rebukes undead. There is a Demon Lord, Orcus, who controls undead, so maybe an underling did some meddling with the kid? *shrugs* |
| GodGoblin03-05-08, 06:08 AM | My DM has said that i can ignore the alighnment for PrCs because all of her powers are evil but she is personally trying to do good. So her powers will get stronger or more speicalised like she takes the dread necromancer class for example but she is trying to adapt it to good seeing as she has no choice but to use evil powers. |
