| DracoPhoenix07-21-07, 05:55 PM | I'm rolling a L5 Artificer, but am having trouble deciding on whether to take a human to make use of the various crafting discount feats, or Illumian and the Education feat for the back ground of someone with a lot of "specialist" knowledge. While I would like the latter, the DM runs games closer to hack and slash. I believe in the long run, I wouldn't get much use out of the knowledge skills. While if I took the feats, I could quite easily optimise my crafting abilities. Any help would be appreciated. |

So, unless you or someone in your group has all the available monsters memorized, Knowledge skills are useful in a hack-and-slash environment. However, the Artificer already has a lot of class skills that you'll want maxed out (Search, Disable Device, Open Lock, Concentration, and Use Magic Device at least) so you may not have many skill points left for Knowledges. |
