| FiestFan01-27-07, 08:56 AM | I'm in a situation where I inadvertently chose a concept the DM knows much better than I; I'd like some advice playing the concept so as not to screw it up as far as canon is concerned. In an online FR campaign the DM pitched to me as a 'meatgrinder needing a Tank and/or Healer', I've brought in a 1/2 Drow Prestige Paladin of Osiris (7th level, 2nd level PrC). Come to find out the DM is 1) an Egyptophile, 2) yet another worshipper at the Temple of R A Salvatore and 3) of the opinion that Prestige Paladins should be held to a higher standard than non-Prestige Paladins, just slightly below Exalted standards. I've read a couple of the Drittz books, and a thing or two about the Egyptian pantheon, but this guy clearly takes his interest in these things to another level. So, I'm looking for tips. Conceptually, my character, Bareris, is the child of a Drow priestess of Selvetarm and a Human slave who was a Cleric of Osiris. The priestess had mated with the slave in order to produce a half-breed for a special sacrifice to her god when the child turned 10. Bareris' father was allowed to live solely so that the child would be cared for, as such was beneath his mother. Desperate to save Bareris, his father made a daring escape into the heart of Mulharand when the boy was 4. Bareris was raised in secrecy, always swathed in tuban, loose robes, and veil to hide his origin as he learned about Osiris, and learned to fight to survive. |
