| Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi04-19-06, 05:42 PM | What I have so far is that he's a Psiforged Divine Mind, part of a project to enhance field performance. Essentially, he'll be adopting mantles (I believe Creation is one) that give him a healing aura, allowing him to support the cleric, or in battle be a very helpful presence. As such, I know my character (designated Ps-901 within the project) will be unusual. He is a Divine Mind, so a religious nature is definite, but it is somehow artificial: during the period when Warforged are taught their skills, Ps-901 was fed little other than religion and leadership (to gather enough forces to max out healing auras). But before Ps-901 could enter combat (but after training was completed), the Last War ended, and he became a free being. I'd guess now he's a paladin of sorts: programmed devotion to a "holy" cause, but now forced to find the specific battles on his own. Now the questions: 1) What deity (Ebberon or otherwise) would Ps-901 worship? 2) What name might he quickly earn and be called by? 3) What tactics might he use in battle? 4) Questions? Comments? Suggestion? Changes? Additions? Subtractions? Anything? EDIT: Browsing through the Wizards website, I noted an interesting concept. A Warforged as a Legacy Weapon. Sure it'd need DM approval, but I'd say it perfectly fits this guy's nature. Any ideas there either? Probably should be a separate topic though. Still, there is a way to make this character development. How is he a weapon of legacy? Did some ancient, shattered weapon of legacy (with a psionic background?) make it into his creation forge? Or more likely, since he was built for a special purpose, was it intentionally placed in? Or did some other group put it into the creation forge, trying to get what THEY wanted without needing to pay for a creation forge while letting the experts train it. You know what? I love that last thought. |

I'd say that one interesting possibility is that he worships his creator nation -- patriotism is his religion, so to speak. Unless, that is, he's Thranish, in which case they probably would have insisted on making him a Silver Flamer, rather than worshipping Thrane idolatrously. I think it would be funny if he were called Ardent: a Divine Mind named Ardent is kinda silly, but anyway... you might think of other ideas along those lines: Passion, Devotion, etc. Not sure about tactics. |

He was built to be a battlefield medic type. Name I have been toying with is Wake, as he has awakened the powers of his mind. Feel free to us it. |

But if you had your idea first, don't let me steal it from you. Then again, there's no reason we can't both use this. Personally, I think I'll combine your idea with Rowan_Whispercloak's. Life and Path of Light, to banish the Dreaming Dark. The first was from training, the second he gained as he found his own path. Lens is cool. Or to personalize rather than borrow, Wandering Path, since this describes his life now. And it adds a new kind of flavor to the Warforged. Sounds more Native American (albeit stereotypical - let there be no offense), still describing the person, but not a concrete name like Sword or Lens. EDIT: I've edited my original post with a new idea. This way anyone just looking at the topic also sees it. |
