| TheAnthroDM03-16-07, 02:54 AM | Alright so I'm working through my campaign design and I'm trying to find motivation and purpose for the Psychic Warrior "boss", Nemisis who's a human with a frost giant bloodline. Problem is I just can't figure out motivation for the Psychic Warrior to oppose the PCs during their stay at Black-Moon Mountain. So CD, any idea for my CN Psychic Warrior Bad Guy? |
| fil kearney03-16-07, 04:20 AM | well... isn't his motivation going to hinge kinda on the campaign plot? Is the party looking for something? so is he, then. figure out why from there. is the party hunting something? have the NPC NOT want it hunted... figure out why from there. I mean, you really gotta put this into context. If he's an antagonist, figure out why how he opposes the party, then BS a reason why he woudl care. basic BBEG 101. |

Maybe he's just really territorial, and resents the PCs invading his turf. Adventurers passing through a remote town tend to generate a bit of gossip, and maybe he's a little jealous that nobody's talking about him right now. If he beats up those adventurers, then he'll regain his feared status among the locals. In this case, he'd rather leave the party alive if possible so they can tell the townsfolk all about how the big blue guy beat them up and took their lunch money. Maybe he just really wants to test his strength against worthy opponents. |

And secondly, to no poster. She is the psuedocaptian of the psuedoarmy that protect the little known village she's from, which will be the main place that that part of the stories takes place... PS. If I didn't mention it the NPC is NE |
