| Fithero05-11-07, 03:40 PM | Does anyone know anything about Psyforged? I want to make a psion/thrall herder, evil warforged but i dont know the first thing about ebberon :( I just like the idea of this robot-like creature controling the minds of surrounding humans :P |
| stupnick05-11-07, 03:49 PM | wow that's actually a really kewl character idea, i know crystalkeep.com has the stats on warforged, not sure what would be different on a psyforged tho.. |

| fiendish_platypus05-11-07, 05:33 PM | Psiforged is simply a feat for 1st level warforged, similar to the ______ Body feats. It's not necessary for psiforged to take this feat, all it gives you is a powerpoint and makes your body a cognacize crystal or sumthin like that, it's in MoE. Theres quite a bit of backstory in that book, there's like five progenitors or somthin' that all dissapeared. |
| fiendish_platypus05-11-07, 05:35 PM | I'll tell you that my one experience with psiforged was good, we were doing a oneshot in Xen'drik where I played one of the missing Progenitors, it was pretty amazing. |
| CrimsonDeath05-11-07, 09:38 PM | If you intend to play a psionic Warforged, I think it's a very flavorful option. For a single-class psion, it's probably the best Body feat you could choose, although I'm not sure how it stacks up mechanically against other feats you might be able to take at first level. I intend to try it out on a cohort pretty soon (once my character is of a high enough level to take the Leadership feat). One possible disadvantage is that, if you take Psionic Body, it doesn't count as a Psionic feat. However, I'm not sure if 2 HP is really enough reason not to take it, particularly since it essentially gives you a free cognizance crystal (a particularly strong advantage if you frequently have an entire day's rest between adventures). But really, the main reason I'd take the feat would be for RP purposes. |
| Fithero05-12-07, 03:28 AM | Yeah, i invision him seeing as much in humanoids as they did in warforged during the last war. Not much at all. Since the leadersrhip ability that the thrall herder gets constantly replenishes itself... i can just send wave after wave of humanoids against my foes... Just like the humanoids did with warforged. Do you see where im going with this? :P This psyforged will see no problem in sending his entire humanoid force against a defended position. If he loses them, he can just wait a while until more followers arrive... then start again :D He will have no mercy when it comes to fleshies, they are all expendable! How does that sound? |
| fiendish_platypus05-12-07, 08:49 AM | Sounds good, but if you want a truly big force have your Thralls be Thrallherds to, and then make their Thralls Thrallherd, etc... and then you'll have maybe 6 Thrallherds (Maybe, didn't do my math on this one?) by level ten Thrallherd. And like a kabajillion humans. |
| Fithero05-12-07, 10:30 PM | Excelent... And all the other thrallherds can be psyforged too... wiping out all humans actually seems possible now! Im trying to think of some quotes that i can have him constantly use- "Suffer human, it amuses me" "Your kind is a stain on this world that will soon be eradicated" "Your form is weak, flawed. Mine is strong, flawless." I dunno about them though, i want him so far removed from any sort of humanity that humans cannot understand his motives.... and he has trouble understanding theirs. Any more ideas? |
| fiendish_platypus05-12-07, 10:37 PM | Well, in Eberron, the Lord of Blades, the unofficial 'king' of warforged and the Mournland, want's to wipe out the wea... Well, heres a quote. (pg. 76 Five Nations) "In the wreckage of decadent Cyre I shall forge an empire. The weakness of flesh and bone has been exposed, and my people shall be the next dominant species on this rock called Khorvaire. It starts here, in the Mournland. It starts now, in the First Year of the Thirteen Blades. It starts with us, the warforged. It starts with me, the Lord of Blades..." -Lord of Blades. |

Any more ideas? The diffiiculty is of course that being human we have great difficulty coming up with suggestions that a human couldn't comprehend. Consider that rather than hating humans he may simply view them as an outdated model. Warforged are superior so its time to use up what's left of humanity and move on to the next model. |

I'll have him see them as a problem that needs to be fixed, he doesnt hate them, he just wants to get rid of them. Kinda like how humans hate cockroaches.... thats how he sees humans. Sound better? |
| hovnarr05-13-07, 02:27 PM | Kinda like how humans hate cockroaches.... thats how he sees humans. Or he could see them as batteries: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040925a Warforged are quite decent Shapers... you get charm and dominate for free from Thrallherd anyway. Finish the build off with Body Leech when you qualify. Voilą: It's the Matrix on legs. A machine that controls humanoids and drains them clean when they no longer are of use. A machine that consumes humans in cocoons for their energy! It's vile! |
