Sean, THe Incompotent 05-27-06, 07:14 PM	not sure if this goes here but i am atempting to figure out what to do when making the purple dragon from forgoten realms. I was thinking about making it be a fusion of red and blue dragons whose genetics got spliced via elven magic. If this dragon has be released in any books or if you could help with inventing stats help would be welcomed.

I decided that the Purple Dragon was a template applied to a metalic dragon who assumed the mantle on the death or transference (more often) from the previous holder. It worked a bit like the 'Chosen' templates, although not as powerful. The dragon's appearence did not change but their breath weapons became tinged with purple, and they gained some stat boosts and powers. Most were Gold or Bronze dragons, with the occasional Silver dragon filling in from time to time.
DwarvinJedi 05-27-06, 09:35 PM	Actually according to Cormyr: A Novel THE Purple Dragon is a very old Black Dragon that once lived in the forests of Cormyr, by the time men had confronted him(can't remember the name, and will look it up later), he was so old that his scales had a slight purple hue. This is all from memory so hopefully someone better versed in FR lore will correct me(I have only read 3 FR novels, Cormyr, its sequel, and Elminster:The Making of a Mage(all good books)
