| Bloodseareavor12-12-05, 12:55 PM | I have some character issues with Aasimars and tieflings because, it seems like they never know what they are. but if that is the case ae they just created as adults? What type of Background do these races come from besides a celestial bloodline and an infernal one. I know a lot of people pass them off to be elves or humans who don't know their true heritage. So, is that the only route or do the planes harbor towns or governments with these races as tdominant species? Do aasimar breed aasimar, what about teiflings? Or are the races born of normal men and women with long lost heritage in the desired clestial or infernal being that the character is or perhaps a blessed or cursed energy upon the parent creates such offspring. I would liek to see more in rule books about these races but for now i am asking the inspired players who read these threads. I like both races, they each make good characters but struggling with a background for a level 8 pally/psi- warrior. Not Sure how to treat her Aasimar race into setting the parameters of the background. I am thinking a diety like heironous or one maybe a alittle more compassionate Maybe i am over thinking it. |

Speaking of the real-world, genetics is a very complicated and unpredictable subject. The 'Magic' of D&D stirrs it up a bit. A Planetouched character may have 'normal' parents, and their Outsider nature is a 'throwback' from several generations previous (an event not openly talked about by family members). The family may have done their best to hide or disguise (or may simply be unaware) of the differences untill the character 'Comes of Age'. Aasimars may be more socially accepted than Tieflings, but fear of the unknown (and the unknowable) is still a strong driving force for some people. |
