| Nessaj01-06-08, 04:37 PM | I'm stuck on a character idea; a Rashemi Spirit Shaman. I was hoping the creative crew here on Char Development would be able to give me ideas on role-playing things the character can do to reflect his close spiritual ties. Things outsiders would see silly like stirring the dirt on a road in a circular pattern with one toe before crossing...Always buying a second, smaller helping of food when I eat; some for me and some for my ancestral guide...That sort of thing :D Some would be just silly...Others would be the basis for some of the neat class abilities Spirit Shamans get. So...Ideas? |

I'd look more to Native American mythology than to eastern mysticism. Offer up thanks to the spirits when they aid you. Learn what omens have what meaning to your character. Spend time "in communnion" if you want to play up the spirit of the land aspect of Rashemi culture. I would also ask myself how my character view the different classes of "spirit" such as elemental, fey, outsider, and undead. All of these are likely to have that title apply. In Rashemen air and earth are particularly important so you may want to focus on them. I don't remember Spirit shaman very well off the top of my head so I can't remember if the class had any elemental focus. |

His talents, however, are aligned towards those the hathrans practice, which is of course, forbidden. He did not wish to be secreted away with the men of arcane talent, so he exiled himself by leaving his homeland. Thanks for the idea on Native American culture, I will check that out. Definitely looking to play an animistic-nature worshipping type of character. Patron probably Meiliki (sp?). There was no elemental focus for the Spirit Shaman, but it's a great class for the theme. And of course, that entire list save outsiders are considered spirits by the class. |
