| green_girl07-09-07, 10:13 AM | I need some quotes for my elven fighter. Yeah, yeah, boring ho-hum. that's why I need to make him as interesting character-wise as possible. He is sarcastic as hell, witty and a bit racist. And hes chaotic neutral and wields two axes, if that helps. Help, anyone? |
| warwinner07-09-07, 03:15 PM | 1] Let me show you how it's done 2] Let's do the deadly dance 3] Let's do it elven style 4] You won't mess with an elf again 5] Fighting is a necessary chore, but when elves do it, it is an art 6] Your race is inferior, live with it |
| kheris07-09-07, 04:09 PM | Against a melee opponent: Your stance is awful! *chuckle* You jest, yes? (after they miss) *sigh* You bore me so... (on hit) Do you enjoy pain? (on hit) Yes, that is your blood! Gods, go home and train, then I'll kill you! (on hit)Parry, parry, thrust - No! You're doing it wrong!! Against ranged/casters: You shouldn't be here.... No, your robes won't protect you.... A bow! Hey I have one of those!! You won't wave your fingers like that when I get to you! Try that Fireball with me standing here... Ooooo.... You smell worse up close.... On a crit: That is how you use a blade! Are you even trying? Elven steel cuts deep, does it not? I'll forgive you for not applauding. You didn't need that [extremity/organ], did you? That's for calling me a treehugger! Like it? My mom taught me that one! |
| TheAnthroDM07-09-07, 05:24 PM | After your opponent missed you: "Excellent, Excellent Strike... unless of course you were trying to hit me." |
| Ensjak07-09-07, 05:26 PM | Well Kheris seems to have rocked this thread but I'll add one. Against humans or shorter lived races: "Wow, I bet you've trained all your life? That's what like 20, no 30 years? That's cute." |
| OatsMalone07-09-07, 09:49 PM | Quotes for Different Occasions: "Hairless doesn't mean spineless!" "I give you fine swordplay! You dare to insult me with this drivel? I've spent your entire lifetime perfecting this lunge!" "You may be stronger, but I'm prettier. Honestly, have you ever been with a woman/man?" "You are a sneak and a coward. Not that I can blame you, with those looks." "You could spend your entire lifetime trying to match me, but I'm afraid that would be a wasted effort." "Thank you, kind <race>. The tale of how I defeated you will ensure I don't sleep alone." |
| pbradley17907-09-07, 11:56 PM | "How appropriate, you fight like a cow." |
| green_girl07-10-07, 11:43 AM | Hey thanks everyone! Keep going, keep koing! :) pbradley's inspired me to another line: "Humans (or any other race) are like cows. You've seen one, you've seen them all." I also need some quotes when he's talking to his party (a halfling, a human and a half-elf). He needs to be a little annoying but still tolerable. |
| warwinner07-10-07, 01:01 PM | When fighting short races [dwarf, halfling] "You're one ugly baby" Talking to party "hey half-boys [halfies] listen up" "look at me when i am talking to you" To half-elf "you'll only ever be half as good as me" To halfling "oh, i didn't see you there" To human "An elf isn't a pointy eared human + something else" |
| OatsMalone07-10-07, 04:59 PM | To party: (To halfling) "Well done, sidekick!" (Retort for half-elf, if insults come from that direction) "Sorry, I can only hear half of what you're saying." It's better if you say it in Elven. (To human in a human city) "This city is filthy; it suits you and your people." If anyone ever questions the aesthetics of your axes, giving them a stirring account of the beauty of a well-arced bloodspray as it cascades onto cobblestone. If you see a dwarf (or any other race) wielding one axe, make sure to point out that you have two. |
| god10107-10-07, 09:46 PM | after beating an opponent: I didn't even break a sweat buddy and your talking to me! How sad. Eww my (weapon here) is covered in mud. Oh wait that you blood. Whew, I was worried there for a minute. |
| TheBeardedElf07-11-07, 08:35 PM | refer to the halfling as a footstool, talk about other party members (or even non-elven NPCs) as if they weren't there and most of the good ones about others fighting with lack of style have been mentioned |
| green_girl07-11-07, 10:43 PM | Thanks guys! Used some of these during our last session. I called the party rogue "sidekick". He got angry and shot a bolt at my character and missed. While being restrained by the others, I insulted his aim, his height, his parentage and his body odor. God, I love my character.:D anything else? Oh, we have a new party member, a half-orc (surprise, surprise) barbarian. |
| warwinner07-11-07, 11:45 PM | anything els? Oh, we have a new party member, a half-orc (surprise, surprise) barbarian. Well all the half-quotes here apply. Here's some more 1] You use your weapon more/better than your brain.Just replace your brain with a tiny dagger.Won't make no difference 2] I wouldn't go near an orc, but apparently some humans didn't have such reservations [looks at half-orc with a sneer] 3] I'll give you credit, you may become half-as good as me in time.Oh wait .... how long do half-orcs live ? 60 years ? sorry ....... 4] You fight like a little girl |
| OatsMalone07-11-07, 11:49 PM | For the half-orc: "I can't say which half I like more... well, I'll have to go with neither." "You don't fight. You gyrate angrily with a large sharp object." "I'd be a lot more frightened if you could understand what I'm saying." "Hey orc, what does that sign say? Good, you almost pronounced it right! More 'oo' in there next time." (Especially fun if he actually spent a skill point to become literate) "Use your words, big man." (Especially if he's being more passive than aggressive) |
| Staver07-12-07, 08:23 AM | For the half-orc: "You don't fight. You gyrate angrily with a large sharp object." Oh, I like this one! I think it would be even more effective followed by "I suppose I shouldn't use big words like "gyrate" speaking to you though..." -Staver :evillaugh |
| Alltat07-12-07, 10:20 AM | "I guess we can't all be beautiful..." "You could spend the rest of your life trying to best me and still not succeed." "Insulting you would be a waste of my time." "Ending your misery shall be my good deed for the day!" To the half-elf: "I suppose you're only half bad." To the half-orc, or pretty much anyone: "And I thought ordinary humans were bad..." "I find your kind intriguing - it's as if someone actually went out of their way to make humans even uglier. |
