| bobbilcon08-20-06, 12:28 AM | I have been playing a ranger elf (lucasian Moonbringer) for awile then put him away for awile to try out other characters. We started a new campane so i wipped him out agine. I was asked to wright a history for him. I had never thought of what had happend to him to much. Some things i had decided on like him comming from royalty. His home city after he left for training in the elven ways was seiged. everyone was killed. the city burned to a crisp. The city was called Onathdinaia (order of the white oak) His goal in life is to find who did it and why. Once his city was leveled he traviled looking for who did it. Eventualy after 20 years he found the man. or to be more correct the man found him. He tried to fight with him but was over powered in several hits. when Lucasian was defeted the man said for him to become stronger. and when he dose he will find lucasian agine. And that is all i could think off. alittle corny but meh. any sugustions on improving this storyline? |

No ordinary person could waste an entire elven town, and the different options have very different implications. By the way, PM if you want, but where did you get the "defeated and told to get stronger" idea from? I have an idea but wanted to know if it's right ;) |

| The_Shaman08-20-06, 02:28 PM | Well, given at the powerful destruction at the hands of (mostly) one person, I am inclined to think spellcaster, or someone with powerful magic connection. So, if a human, I have a few theories. The human - or a mage or cleric on his behalf - has divined that someone of that city will bring great harm to his entire race, his society, or himself in general, and has decided to act first, destroying the entire city. Why spare the character? Well, the same magic might have shown that he should not kill a survivor, if any remains. Perhaps later divinations showed the character actually staving the same misfortune that came of destroying the city? Perhaps the first vision was tainted by an evil deity or a demon prince? Or perhaps the human wanted someone to keep him on his feet, and seeing that the elf did not provide a serious challenge, he wanted to keep him as a motivation (blatant Naruto rip-off). Maybe, to turn the prophecy idea around, the human has seen the elf save something great; but lose his city first, and acts as "the hand of the gods." It makes for a very fatalistic and original villain, if not necessarily vile. The human becomes a twisted form of a mentor for the elf, guiding him along the way through pain and loss. Mind you, the elf will probably resent him all the more if he realizes that. It could be, of course, that the human has a much more personal reason. Perhaps, somehow, the elves destroyed his town once (no one said fantasy elves or humans can't be bigots), and he was the only survivor. He might see it as incredibly ironic that he leaves one survivor, fascinated what an elf would become if he had to follow the same road he did. Or perhaps he did have a somewhat guilty conscience. He wanted a serious attempt of vengeance, from which he could escape by the skin of his teeth. Something to prove to himself just how alive he is. Or, on the other hand, he may really have a death wish, secretly thinking that he ought to die. Regardless, he wants to be pursued, but by a worthier foe. These are some ideas how to flesh this part of the plot; if you think of an outsider - or something else - let me know. |
| bobbilcon08-29-06, 12:40 PM | hey i like that idea. i decied to draw a picture of lucasian (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38855430/). I might end up changing hte history abit. Like having the town destroyed around him and such. And explaning that necklace. The puppie i just got in the campane so... yah i dont have a good elven name for the puppie yet so that would help if you guys have any suggustions. |
