Im new to D&D and have purchased the 3.5 ruler books. Im wondering if the Ranger Handbook that was published in 1994 is still valid and can it be used with the 3.5 rules?

Thanks

no sir, that is 2nd Edition D&D. Although you can still play 2nd Edition D&D to your hearts content, it won't work with 3.5 Books to look for, that have somewhat of the same feel might be, Complete Adventurer, and Complete Warrior. There isnt a 3.5 book specifically for Rangers, made by WOTC to my knowledge

enjoy!

However, i am sure you can still use many of the concepts and ideas portrayed in the book. There is a section dedicated to the roleplaying side of the ranger which is always helpful. Or you might even be able to adapt some of the rules if you needed to use them as ideas!!

If you are really searching for some extra info on rangers, you could as well use the 3rd edition "Masters of the Wild" guidebook and convert the prestige classes, feats etc. to 3.5
