| Menander03-21-08, 04:17 PM | I am playing in a campaign right now where my current character (a full exalted cleric/RSoP) has just been forcibly removed because he was "unbalancing" to the game through his spells and his diplomacy. Now I will save the complaining about all that for some other time, suffice it to say I now need to rebuild my character. My DM has agreed to let me make a new character of the same level and with access to my old characters resources, which were considerable as he had managed to convert the majority of a continent to Pelor. I am trying to make this character the leader of the Shadowstrikers of Pelor, and i am having significant difficulty picking a class that matches that. He is the result of a long series of arcane experiments and has that kinda revenge thing going, so he was redeemed by Pelor and now uses his past of evil to make things all better for Pelor. I am looking for a class build that has some sneaking but mainly is made for killing evil npc's. Please help me find the right flavor. |

Rogues are always a useful base class if you want a bit of stealth and an aptitude for killing. Remember, a helpless target is one round away from a bad-ass coup de grace death save :) |

That does not, however, mean that beguilers can't be assassins. In fact, a well played beguiler will be able to reach marks that are near impossible to hit with a rogue, do so with class, and often without any evidence of his or her involvement. That said, if you want to play a more melee oriented type, I'd suggest either shadow pounce (rogue/assasssin/telflammar shadowlord), one of the blackflame zealot assassin builds, or (simply enough) a stealthy daring outlaw with able learner, depending on what you want to focus on. |
