Relationship advice? [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-07-07, 09:43 PM One of the party members on Vega's team is Stark, Jr., child of the original Vampire Hunter Stark. Stark Jr. was born to a woman whom Stark had slept with only hours before he died (she was one of two), in a violently superstitious town in Valley Ravenloft.

Eventually, she fled and spent a year as a sneak thief, before being caught up by the Monastary and brought round to Enlightened thinking. Rogue 1/Paladin 2. Expanding on this, she has a falling out with the Captain of the Monastic Guards when, during a training exercise, she points her sword for an instant at the Sub Daimyo of the Vittorian Empire, so she takes Monk 3 as the game opens. Her reasoning is that after this, Stark Jr. underwent intense rural retraining working through the pain of feeling abandoned and rediscovered her paladin powers.

She eventually meets, and abandons the party for a sub-campaign while our characters were assumed to be hacking our way through nasty but not particularly dramatic brush, she and us gallivanted around as a plane-hopping group of misfits. In the face of our merry and in one case undead behaviours, she remained lawful, but did fall in for the human Captain Crew.

Crew doesn't love her back, though, and after a particular episode forced us to turn on each other due to implanted memories we'd never be able to discern from real, can't tell if he hates her or not, and abandons her as the crew breaks up. After months in the phantom zone, she meditated her way through to reality, and entered the Horizon Walker class, joining the party IMMEDIATELY after her father died. She was then instrumental in our success over Strahd, and has been a vital source of comfort ever since.

Recently, this character struck up a romance with a young Ranger, who is apparently Chaotic Good while she is Lawful Good. I personally don't think that this romance should work out, but the player does want it to. What should I say to the DM when he asks my opinion on it?
