| Olidammara06-22-07, 03:52 PM | ok, so i have this rival as an NPC, and my DM is determined to make me kill his punk ***. the only problem is, we're both in house lyrendar, and people like him, and i'm a good character. therefore, i'm smushing my brains trying to think of stuff i can do to him, that cant really be blamed on me, and wont harm him physically. i need your help. help me embarass him badly! we're both bards, both dragonmarked, i'm a pilot of my own airship, he's a weasle. in the past, he's tried several times to claim my ship as his own in the name of the house, he's spread VERY dislikeable rumors about me throughout all sharn, including how i fooled around with several deseased wenches, and how i have a gambling problem (i'm upper class, and the house looks down on this reputation of mine), and he most recently put together a trade agreement between lyrendar and the inspired nation (i forgot its name). imagine he's gary to my ash. |
| laughinggranny06-22-07, 04:45 PM | Does he have any vices? or is he a saint? Does he have a significant other? who is he and what does he do other than spending half his time slandering you? |
| Radijs06-22-07, 05:50 PM | Since you both appear to be big shots in a way you can try getting some dirt on him. Systematically start attacking his name and his reputation. Start looking for weaknesses. If he has money trouble you can start something illegal that makes money and link it to him in every possible way. When you meet with people disguise yourself as him. Get a copy of his signet ring and use it to seal incriminating documents. If he has other vices enjoy them AS HIM and create a record that can be traced back to him. Additional: Then when he begins to lose status (and power) you can show up in his bedroom one night and do with him what you want. For some extra juice you can set out to ruin him completely and utterly. And then when the wolves are at the door offer him a way out. Place him in your debt and let that hang over him like Damocles' sword. |
| Olidammara06-23-07, 12:37 AM | nice suggestions. i havent actually gone into researching his vices, but as far as i know all he has is being a whiney biatch and ruining my name. i've been buisy getting my hands on a ship lately, but now that i have such wonderful advice, i shall become a detective. thanks. |

Incite bar fights somehow by making it seems like he provokes them. As far as rumors, maybe you can start a rumor that he has had relations with dwarves or some savage race, of the opposite sex. Maybe you can tell people that he has had a criminal record of abusing children and urinating on a farmers crops. As far as pranks go, maybe you can steal all of his clothing, so he can't leave his house. If he has a significant other, have a diseased wench visit him while he is with her. Try to use unseen servant to make him look like an idiot in public. Im sure you can come up with some good ideas being a bard. Maybe you can sing songs about him in taverns. It's a good way to get people to think bad about him. |
| kaoswarrior06-23-07, 06:48 PM | Alternatively, go ahead and kill him... but in a roundabout way Are your party all good? If not, perhaps mention how this troublemaker is going to make life more difficult for YOU ALL... Subtle... but I find every party contains at least one person who can justify murder... Its a real pity that it is usually me... |
