And that would probably be part of possibly a guide in the windwrights guild or you could just be an adventurer. The house has several things. Windwrights for the trade, which is why I suggest a guide (your bardic knowledge and what not). The raincallers guild for controlling weather, but I doubt that would be as believable as the windwrights. The house believes in a unified half-elf race and possibly a Khoravar(half-elf) homeland. The book also says that the house tends to be understanding of adventuring scions, because they know they will be back. So without knowing that much more about your character here is what I suggest. 1 (if dragonmarked): You were born into House Lyrandar and have manifested the mark of storm. You wish to prove useful to the house and one day serve in the windwrights guild, possibly as a guide or a navigator. But right now you do not want to feel weighted down. You decide to go adventuring, feeling that by gaining knowledge of the world around you could be more useful to the guild and the house. 2: (if not dragonmarked): When you were still young, your parents decided to become part of the windwrights guild, and your family was integrated into house Lyrandar (Lyrandar tends to accept any half-elf into their house). As you grew, you started working for the windwrights yourself, and started to prove very useful. Maybe your character fell in love with some heir of the house, and you wish to prove yourself to them. You decide to leave the guild, momentarily to earn yourself a fortune and come back to the guild when you are ready where you can possibly woo your love. Or something not so cheesy.... But you get the idea, right? |
