Rogue/Clerics [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-19-07, 09:55 AM All right guys, I want, wait, need to create a character to play our new game, but we have everything but a rogue and a cleric.

Any ideas on good rogue/cleric combinations or prestige classes ?

Well, one thing you might try is a cloistered cleric (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/unearthedCoreClass.html#cloistered-cleric) (Unearthed Arcana) with the kobold domain (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a) (Races of the Dragon Web Enhancement) and possible the trickery domain. This cleric won't have move silently, listen, tumble, use magic device or spot as class skills, but will otherwise be able to do some of the essential rogue things (trapfinding. (Hopefully, you have someone else in the party with a good listen and spot check?) This is the approach of one of my character concepts, Sirakton Mokor (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=932870). Alternatively, maybe magic instead of trickery as a substitute for UMD.

If you don't like that route, there's the shadowbane stalker from Complete Adventurer. Maybe ninja/(cloistered?) cleric/shadowbane stalker, or maybe rogue/archivist (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20051007a&page=3)/shadowbane stalker. (the ninja is also from Complete Adventurer)

10-20-07, 08:32 PM Man I miss Baldur's Gate 2, and Cleric/Thieves being able to Back-stab for:
{[1d8 (maximized) +2 (weapon enchantment) +2 (buffs)]x5 +14 (buffed STR bonus)} x 10 (# of attacks) = 740 damage per round.
